NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace was left in shock after Denny Hamlin won a $300,000 jackpot while gambling in Las Vegas. Wallace shared his reaction in a “Coffee with Kenny” video posted on his X account, where he discussed the Joe Gibbs Racing driver’s casino success.
Hamlin was in Las Vegas for the NASCAR Cup Series race, hoping to end his winless streak and secure his first victory of the 2025 season. Unfortunately, with a 25th-place finish, Hamlin’s 29-race winless streak continues on.
Nevertheless, he didn’t leave the desert empty-handed.
Denny Hamlin’s Unbelievable Casino Win Leaves Kenny Wallace in Awe
On Friday, ahead of the Las Vegas race, Hamlin posted a video on Instagram showing he had hit a jackpot at a casino, winning more than $126,000. Then, on Saturday night, he posted another video of himself winning again on a similar machine — this time, just shy of $86,000.
In a video posted on X, Wallace called Hamlin a “gangster” when it comes to gambling. The former NASCAR driver and media personality said, “Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, they are known for gambling. They some gambling fools. When Denny gambles, it’s like, holy s***! Based on Hamlin’s response, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver won an additional $119,000 overnight in Las Vegas.
Hamlin, a three-time Daytona 500 winner and one of NASCAR’s most accomplished drivers, is no stranger to high-stakes competition. In 2022, after the fall race at Phoenix, he hit five of six numbers in the $2 billion Powerball, winning $50,000. He later discussed his winnings on his podcast, “Actions Detrimental,” in March 2023.
Fans joined in on the discussion, flooding social media with reactions ranging from envy to amusement. One fan said, “BUT, how much has he lost through the years? No one talks about their losses!”
Another fan added, “GTFO. How the hell can one man be so lucky?! I still haven’t made my wager on tonight yet. What’re your chances on the track, Denny?”
A confident fan said, “You will win today!! Gangsta Style.”
Hamlin, however, was unable to break his NASCAR Cup Series drought, finishing 25th in the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas.
