NASCAR Fans Fume Over Hollywood Legend Morgan Freeman’s ‘Weak’ Command at Las Vegas

When Morgan Freeman was announced as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Pennzoil 400, NASCAR fans were ecstatic. The man with one of the most iconic voices in Hollywood was set to give the command: “Drivers, start your engines!”

Fans expected another legendary moment, hearing Freeman’s commanding voice boom across the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, Freeman, known as one of the most recognizable voices on the planet, left fans feeling disappointed with his lack of enthusiasm.

Morgan Freeman’s Command Left NASCAR Fans Wanting More

Before the race, Freeman expressed his excitement about being chosen as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Pennzoil 400.

He said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to be chosen as the grand marshal for this NASCAR race. It’s a true honor to be part of such an incredible tradition, and I can’t wait to see the energy, passion, and excitement that fills the track. Let’s rev up those engines and make this race unforgettable.”

When the 87-year-old Freeman ordered NASCAR Cup Series drivers to start their engines, fans thought it would give them goosebumps, just like so many of his legendary lines have in the past. Fans anticipated hearing that same commanding voice that once said in “Invictus,” “As long as you feel like a victim, you are one.”

But what transpired was a letdown no one saw coming. Fans were left stunned by Freeman’s uninspired delivery. The subdued tone of the man who once voiced God left fans and viewers wanting more, with reactions on social media reflecting their surprise and dissatisfaction.

One fan commented, “Most unenthusiastic command ever.”

Another fan shared, “What a letdown.”

A fan sarcastically said, “Sounds very excited to be there.”

Describing the subdued performance, a NASCAR fan said, “2/10 only because it was Morgan Freeman.”

    “Weak sauce,” added another viewer.

“From England watching this sport for 2 yrs ish. That had to be the most lackluster start ur engines (I’ve heard),” said a fan joining in from England.

Freeman, who has previously narrated NASCAR documentaries and more recently voiced the 2025 Daytona 500 advertisement for FOX Sports, is known for his iconic voice. However, his command as Grand Marshal at Las Vegas was unexpectedly underwhelming and ultimately forgettable.
