Logan Paul made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38 in a tag team match, teaming with The Miz to defeat Rey and Dominik Mysterio. And in a short time, he has built a name for himself in the wrestling industry.
Paul has competed in several high-stakes matches and impressed fans with his athleticism. However, he has also faced criticism from fans and WWE stars. Recently, AJ Styles shared his thoughts on Paul, saying that he didn’t have to struggle like other wrestlers to earn opportunities in the company.
AJ Styles Compares Logan Paul to a Spoiled Kid
On the March 10 post-Raw show, The Phenomenal One spoke about Paul, comparing him to a spoiled kid who gets everything without having to work for it. He also pointed out that The Maverick didn’t earn his opportunities in WWE the same way as the rest of the roster.
“It’s like giving your kids everything they want before they even work for anything,” Styles said. “They’re spoiled, right? And I would say it’s kind of the same thing with Logan Paul. He thinks he can just come to a WWE ring, not an independent wrestling ring like the rest of us had. Or maybe at least the PC to train a little bit. He has done none of that and thinks he belongs in the ring. We’ve paid our dues.
“We’ve done what we’ve had to do to get where we’re at. Logan Paul hasn’t. So, we are going to find out how bad he wants it. I’m gonna stay on him, I’m gonna stay on him until either he’s gonna fight back and do something about it. Or, he’s gonna leave.”
The former world champion admitted that Paul is a good athlete but argued that not all athletes are fit for WWE. He again pointed out that Paul didn’t make sacrifices to become part of the WWE roster or earn his opportunities.
It’s not just Styles, either. Many others have questioned the special treatment Paul has received. For example, despite competing in only a handful of matches, Paul got the chance to face Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel 2022 for the Undisputed Universal Championship just months after his in-ring debut.
It’s rare for a WWE star to receive such big opportunities so quickly. As Styles mentioned, most superstars had to make significant sacrifices to reach their current positions.
“He’s an athlete. He’s an athlete, there’s no doubt about it. The guy’s an athlete. But there are tons of athletes out there that don’t belong in our ring. We, like I said, had to pay our dues. We had to sacrifice something to get in that ring, whether it’s time, whether it’s pain, or both. Or all of it, we have to sacrifice so much.
“And then there’s a guy that thinks he can just walk into our ring and do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants, claims he’s the biggest star… Yeah, he’s got a lot of followers. Maybe Triple H is happy about that. Great. But he’s gonna have to earn his spot on the WWE roster,” Styles added.
Styles Wants Paul in the Ring
On Raw, Styles came out to rescue stand-up comedian Andrew Schulz, who was in the crowd and was attacked by The Maverick. On the same post-Raw show, Styles expressed his interest in a match against Paul.
“Let’s have a match. I don’t care where it is. Let’s do it,” Styles said.
Both superstars are known for their athleticism and have created viral moments in the past. Their feud is shaping up to be an exciting one, and fans are already speculating about a potential showdown at WrestleMania 41.
