Bubba Wallace saw a potential top-10 finish slip away in the final laps of the Pennzoil 400 after a late wreck ended his hopes. Wallace, who entered the race outside the top 10 in the Cup Series standings, didn’t get any help in the points department after the crash.
The 23XI Racing driver made his frustration loud and clear over the radio after colliding with Ryan Blaney on the final lap.
Bubba Wallace Explodes After Late Wreck at Las Vegas
Blaney’s up-and-down day ended in disaster when he got caught in a multi-car wreck on Lap 196. The Team Penske driver found himself in the middle of a four-wide battle exiting Turn 2 during a final-stage restart. As space tightened, he made contact with Noah Gragson and Wallace. Erik Jones was also involved, while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun further down the track.
Wallace had been running in the top five before the wreck. He earned 14 points by finishing fourth in both Stage 1 and Stage 2. After the crash, he rejoined the race but could only salvage a 28th-place finish, one lap down. His frustration boiled over on the radio as the incident unfolded.
“I don’t know how much f****** higher I can go! F****** idiots,” he screamed.
Wallace later summed up his frustration with a simple four-word Instagram Story, posting a video of the crash with the caption:
“Four wide ain’t work.”
Blaney also reflected on the wreck after the race.
Onboard with Bubba Wallace. He didn't have anywhere to go once Ryan Blaney spun up into him and boxed him in.

“Yeah, we were four-wide there, and honestly, I thought I had two (cars) inside and one outside of me,” Blaney said. “And I watched one little replay, and I had two outside, one inside, so I have to go back and see if I heard it wrong or if there was some miscommunication. I feel like I probably pitched those guys to the fence along the two, so it was probably my fault.”
Blaney, who had battled back from early pit-road struggles, was left frustrated by how his race ended.
“You try to take the best you can out of it, even though it just ended poorly,” he continued. “Fought from the beginning in the race, get to 15th, 16th. Have a terrible pit stop, 30-second pit stop. Got two laps down. Takes a while to get back on the lead lap. Finally get going. Finally get to the top five, it’s like, all right, I think our car is really good. And then wrecked.”
“Just one of those weekends it seems like nothing could really go right. But you stick with it, stay in the game and the sun will come up tomorrow and we’ll be at the race track next week. That’s all you can do. But it is frustrating. It’s easy to get down. I just want to go home honestly and hang out with my wife tonight and just not think about racing for the evening and be ready to go Monday morning.”
