‘I’ve Been Able To Get More From the Racecar’ – Kyle Busch Strives to End Cup Victory Drought With ‘Much Better’ RCR Team

In 2024, Kyle Busch failed to win a NASCAR race in an entire season for the first time in his career, ending a 19-year streak. With his last win in 2023, Busch has gone 61 races without standing on the podium’s top step.

Ahead of the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Busch feels rejuvenated with his team and is confident that the drought will soon end.

Kyle Busch Feels a Victory Is Just Around the Corner, Thanks to His Team

At the Circuit of the Americas earlier this season, it looked like Busch’s winless streak would end after he led a race-high 42 laps. However, a late caution threw him off his game, ending his chances of a win.

Compared to last year, Busch has made a solid start to life in 2025, scoring top-10 finishes in his previous three races. And as he makes his way to the tarmac in Vegas, Busch is confident in his team’s work.

Per Busch, the season has been, “We’ve had some good races so far, we’ve had some good speed, we’ve had the cars driving much more to my liking than what we’ve had in the past, so I’ve been able to get more from the racecar.”

When talking to the media about the Pennzoil 400, Busch added, “I’m optimistic about here, this weekend, and seeing what we can do this week and putting ourselves in a position to race up front and challenge for stage points.”

The RCR driver appreciated the efforts put in by his team, claiming with certainty that no other team could outwork them this season.

Meanwhile, despite Busch being winless this year, NASCAR journalist Kelly Crandall likes to see the glass as half full.

While the two-time Cup Series champion was impressive in all his outings, what impressed Crandall most was Busch’s run at the Shriners Children’s 400. She felt it was a solid day of racing for Busch, who quietly put in the work.

He didn’t lead any laps or dominate the race, but Busch’s race highlighted the work his team had been putting in behind the scenes. They have rebuilt themselves in 2025 and are consistently becoming a top-ten team, and “The string that they’re working on right now is very impressive.”

Crandall’s words warn Busch’s critics, who believe Rowdy’s time in NASCAR is up. While 2024 proved to be a season to forget for Busch, he welcomed 2025 with a smile and hasn’t looked back since.

He was in the running to finish in the top 10 in all of the races this season, but things didn’t go his way in Daytona. He has led 55 laps this season and is currently ranked eighth in the drivers’ standings with 110 points.

With the changes within the team’s performance visible to all, there might be no better place than Vegas, which happens to be Busch’s birthplace, to end the winless streak. On Sunday, he will start the race from P4 behind Austin Cindric.
