Cowboys Legend Takes a Side In Viral Feud Between Former Teammates Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence

Most NFL analysts and fans probably didn’t expect former wide receiver Dez Bryant to be the voice of reason in the Micah Parsons vs. DeMarcus Lawrence feud — but here we are.

Bryant weighed in on the viral back-and-forth, offering his perspective from both players’ points of view in a single tweet.

Former WR Dez Bryant Argues DeMarcus Lawrence Didn’t ‘Diss’ Micah Parsons, Cowboys

The feud between Parsons and Lawrence began this past week when Parsons took issue with Lawrence’s explanation for why he left Dallas for Seattle.

After 11 seasons with the Cowboys, Lawrence signed a three-year deal worth up to $42 million with the Seahawks, including $18 million guaranteed.

Upon signing with Seattle, Lawrence said part of his decision was Dallas’ bleak Super Bowl outlook.

“Dallas is my home,” Lawrence told Seahawks insider Brian Nemhauser. “I made my home there. My family lives there. I’m forever gonna be there, but I know for sure I’m never gonna win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah. We here.”

Parsons immediately took offense to the comment. On March 13, Bryant stepped in, trying to explain where Lawrence was coming from.

“I honestly don’t think D-Law dissed the boys…he’s coming from a perspective that most people wouldn’t understand,” Bryant wrote on X. “D-Law is a vet…Micah still has time and will eventually have another real shot at a Super Bowl whenever the boys get the right pieces to contend.

“You have two people speaking from two different motives.”

Parsons, however, refused to see Lawrence’s side. Just a couple of hours after Lawrence’s comment, Parsons fired back.

“This is what rejection and envy looks like! This some clown s*!”** Parsons tweeted.

Before this week, Lawrence and Parsons had been teammates for four seasons in Dallas.

Unsurprisingly, Lawrence didn’t hold back in his response.

“Calling me a clown won’t change the fact that I told the truth,” Lawrence fired back on X. “Maybe if you spent less time tweeting and more time winning, I wouldn’t have left.”

Lawrence’s jab could also reference Parsons’ growing presence as a media personality. The Cowboys star linebacker hosts a year-round podcast, “The Edge,” with Bleacher Report.

It’s interesting that Lawrence considers Seattle a better Super Bowl contender since the Seahawks just parted with their starting quarterback and top two wide receivers. However, Seattle did sign Sam Darnold, one of the top free-agent quarterbacks.

The Cowboys were perennial Super Bowl contenders not too long ago. They won a dozen games each season from 2021 to 2023 but have failed to reach the NFC Championship every year since 1995.

Things fell apart for the Cowboys as they went 7-10 in 2024, and the team fired head coach Mike McCarthy.

With Brian Schottenheimer now leading the team, expectations aren’t high — but in recent years, the Cowboys have actually performed better when expectations are low.

The Seahawks and Cowboys aren’t scheduled to play each other during the 2025 regular season, but if they meet in the NFC playoffs, the Parsons-Lawrence feud will make it must-watch TV.

Nothing Bryant says is going to change that.
