Stephen Curry Drops Apt 4-Word Reaction to Possible 5000 Three-Pointers Goal After Breaching 4K Milestone

Stephen Curry achieved a rare feat when he hit his 4000th three-pointer during the Golden State Warriors game against the Sacramento Kings.

No player in NBA history has accomplished what Curry has when it comes to three-point makes. Who’s to say that he can’t get another 1000 before he hangs it up? Curry himself even acknowledged this possibility during his postgame interview.

Stephen Curry On Hitting 5000 Three-Pointers

During his postgame interview with NBA on TNT’s Allie LaForce, Curry was asked about the possibility of getting to 5000 three-pointers before his career ends. The two-time MVP gave a short and sweet response.

“I’m in the moment,” Curry said with a smile on his face.

As if the occasion couldn’t get any sweeter, Curry hit his 4000th three-pointer on his 37th birthday. However, that makes one wonder how much longer Curry can keep playing at his current level.

He is one of the best players of his era and all time. However, he can only play at an elite level for so long before Father Time rears his ugly head. Granted, that’s come at a snail’s pace for him like it has for LeBron James, but it is coming.

    Curry’s Three-Pointer History

Curry crossed the three-pointer mark of 3000 during the 2021-22 season. More specifically, he hit that mark in December of 2021. Almost three-and-a-half years later, he moved on up to 4000. As he approaches 40, getting another 1000 three-point shots is attainable, though it will probably take him longer.

Nonetheless, he is the very best at the one skill in the NBA that teams value more than ever, so even if he may not play at an All-Star level once he reaches his 40s – and that’s if he’s still playing in the NBA – he could still play long enough to feasibly reach 5000 threes, or at least come close.

However, even with all of that in mind, the four-time champion deserves props for not thinking about reaching another milestone as much as he is enjoying what he has accomplished already. He deserves to because his unique playing style is what led to him achieving as much as in nearly 16 years in the NBA.

Curry was already going to be remembered quite fondly for vaulting the Warriors to levels not seen since the Ricky Barry days and making the NBA much more entertaining by revolving his game around floor-spacing. Nights like last night serve as a reminder of the rare talent fans have had the pleasure to see in the Bay Area.
