Commanders WR Deebo Samuel Sr. Pens Heartfelt Messages to 49ers Teammates Including Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk

The Deebo Samuel Sr. era came to an unflattering end for the San Francisco 49ers. A 2021 All-Pro selection seemed like the start of big things to come, but injuries and underproduction dimmed his star. Now, Samuel is heading to the Washington Commanders to catch passes from rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.

Despite how things ended in San Francisco, Samuel still has much love for the locker room. And on his way out, he sent heartfelt messages to several of his former 49ers teammates.

Deebo Samuel Sr. Has Parting Message for 49ers Teammates

John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have completely reshaped the 49ers team this offseason. Several players have been traded, released, or let go in free agency. But it all started with Samuel, who first requested a trade, and eventually, the team reached a deal with the Commanders.

But before departing, the dynamic dual-threat had messages for some of his key San Francisco teammates.

First, it was Brock Purdy, who remains in contract negotiations with San Francisco. Samuel’s message to the league leader in passer rating from two years ago was clear, alluding to the ongoing talks:

    “Get what you deserve family!!!”

Then, Samuel had words for Trent Williams, one of the greatest players in 49ers history and among the best left tackles the sport has ever seen. During Samuel’s run as a dynamic running back/wide receiver hybrid, Williams played a crucial role in helping him thrive in that role.

Seemingly thanking him for it, Samuel wrote, “@trentwilliams71 know where we stand,” alongside a gorilla emoji.

For linebacker Fred Warner, a cornerstone of the 49ers’ defense and a key part of their success this decade, Samuel had another heartfelt message:

“@fred_warner real deal steppah gone miss ya Bruddah”

The four-time All-Pro selection since 2020 formed a strong bond with Samuel. But the veteran receiver’s final string of messages was for the players stepping up in the WR room.

In Super Bowl 58, Jauan Jennings delivered an electric performance, while last season, as injuries piled up, Ricky Pearsall took on a bigger role.

For Jennings, Samuel wrote, “the biggest slime. Go crazy twinnnnnn.” He had a message for Pearsall as well, saying, “my Bruddag keep being you. Skies the limit slime!!!”

Meanwhile, Samuel’s most heartfelt message was for Brandon Aiyuk, the wide receiver who helped anchor the offense:

    “@brandonaiyuk locked in 4L [for life] ain’t s*** changed!!!”

Even though the 2024 season didn’t go as planned for any of the 49ers’ players, it’s clear their brotherhood extends beyond the field.
