One would think that the Tennessee Titans won’t enter the 2025 NFL season with a quarterback room led by former second-round pick Will Levis.
Tennessee holds the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which is rather weak at the position, as Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders are the only QBs expected to go off the board in the first round. If the Titans are not falling in love with either prospect, free agency could be utilized to fill the void under center for at least next year.
Not to mention, the Titans could then trade out of the top selection or add a generational talent on defense.

Titans Predicted To Select Abdul Carter With No. 1 Pick
The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner projects the Titans will select Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL Draft.
“Cam Ward is the best QB prospect in this draft. That doesn’t mean he’s a no-doubter, though, and if you’re going to make this pick — when you’re as bad as the Titans were last season — you need bust-proof,” Baumgardner wrote. “The only thing teams have to monitor with Carter is the Penn State star’s injury situation, but nothing there appears to be a long-term concern.
“If the Titans can swing a trade, great. There’s no guarantee another team will want to come up in this draft, though.”
While he didn’t directly clarify where Tennessee will get their QB for next season, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are the only remaining prominent free agents. So, barring a surprise blockbuster trade (or the disappointing decision to run it back with Levis), it seems Tennessee would turn to either Wilson or Rodgers as their signal-caller for next season.
Rodgers was the No. 21-ranked QB in PFSN’s QB+ metric last season, while Wilson came in at No. 17. It’s hard to say either could lead the Titans to serious success at this stage of their careers, but both could act as a nice bridge QB until a future face of the franchise is brought in.
Tennessee’s offense ranked No. 27 in the NFL last season, per PFSN’s Offense+ metric, meaning pretty much any established QB will be an upgrade over Levis and Mason Rudolph. Rudolph ranked No. 26 in QB+ last season, while Levis was No. 34 out of 39 eligible quarterbacks.
Although adding a new QB always gets fans talking, Carter is far from a player to ignore. PFSN’s latest mock draft also projects Carter will go No. 1 overall.
“If a trade down with Giants makes sense, the Tennessee Titans will likely consider it. If they can still land Abdul Carter, it would be a win-win,” writes PFSN’s David Bearman. “However, I’m skeptical it will happen, so for now, the Titans remain in this spot, where they take the best player available — Penn State edge rusher.
“New information about the injury reported in Indianapolis could change things, but ultimately, this pick is about the future, not just a Pro Day or the next few weeks.”
