Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre recently released a message urging Aaron Rodgers to sign with their former NFC North rival, potentially mimicking his former mentor’s career trajectory.

Aaron Rodgers On The Vikings?
Favre reportedly said on Fox News, “By all means, sign with the Vikings. They’ve got a really good football team. They’re loaded at pretty much every position.” The post continued, “Following Favre’s exact path— A-Rod.”
Adamant about the possibility, Favre stated, “They made it to the playoffs last year. They got a tremendous fan base, much like the Packers. If you get the opportunity, that’s a good place to win. Of course, you gotta play the Packers then.”
So, what would it look like to see Rodgers regularly playing against his former team of 18 years? While there’s no doubt that Matt LaFleur and company will know his tendencies, Rodgers is still one of the best to ever throw the football in league history. Last year, Rodgers heated up down the stretch, finishing up his tenure in New York with 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 90.5 passer rating.
Speaking on the Packers-Vikings relationship, Favre called it a “Love-hate relationship at its best.” He added, “That’s what makes it such a great rivalry. I got to see it from both sides. It made me appreciate both sides even more. If he gets an opportunity, why not?”
Brett Favre On The Vikings
Quarterbacks of a certain age often play out the final years of their careers with a former rival. Case in point was when Brett Favre suited up for the Vikings. Before leaving the Green Bay Packers, however, Rodgers was his backup for three years, learning the reins.
Now, almost twenty years later, the former quarterback seems to think Rodgers should continue in his footsteps. He already did his time with the New York Jets, after all, so why not? The move would make a lot of sense, seeing as the Vikings are ready to compete right now and have arguably every other position locked up.
Of course, many lived through the Favre years and do not wish to see Rodgers go the same route, including many Vikings fans. Favre played the 2009 and 2010 seasons in Minnesota, throwing 33 touchdowns and just 7 interceptions in 2009.
The following year was not so great, with only 11 touchdowns and 19 interceptions, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of Skol Nation. So, hopefully for the Vikings and their fanbase, if Favre gets his way, things will finish up on a more positive note.
