Fever President Warns 12 Other WNBA Teams About Caitlin Clark-Led Roster — ‘They’re Extremely Competitive’

Caitlin Clark made Indiana Fever fans dream that they could achieve anything in her rookie season. In 2025, they are prepared to show that they are not here to take part but to take over the WNBA.

This mentality was also present in the Fever’s aggressive offseason moves, which have led Fever president Kelly Krauskopf to warn the other 12 franchises.

Caitlin Clark and Co.’s Hunger Will Be on Display, Claims Fever President

Last season, Indiana snapped its eight-year playoff drought. They were knocked out in the first round, but their on-court performances have led many to believe they’ll be in contention to win their first WNBA title since 2012 soon enough.

In a recent interview with Sportico, Krauskopf assured fans that they were in for a joyride. This message fans is also a warning shot to the other franchises from the Fever president.

“I think you’re going to see a very hungry group of players,” she said. “First, this is an extremely competitive group — that’s No. 1. Everybody likes to talk about it, but these players really are about that. They’re extremely competitive. They love the game.”

“And then from a style standpoint, we added players that like to play up-tempo, that like to get out and run, score in transition. And I think you’re going to continue to see a fast-paced, really fun environment of basketball on the court that leads to a lot of scoring, a lot of fast-paced play.”

Indiana stayed busy in the offseason. Apart from resigning Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever added depth to their roster by signing DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sydney Colson. They also traded for shooting guard Sophie Cunningham from the Phoenix Mercury.

Cunningham Is Excited To Play With Clark

The former Mercury shooting guard is the newest addition to the Fever. While the pair have not yet stepped on the court, the 28-year-old is already excited to play with the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year.

“She [Clark] has changed our game in the best possible way,” Cunningham said in an interview. “I want her to go do her thing, and anything she needs from me, I’m gonna be here. I stick up for my teammates. I stick up for myself.”

Clark is ready for the next season as well. The 23-year-old has taken the offseason as an opportunity to get herself better prepared for the upcoming challenges.
