“S-H-A-M-E” is how ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith addressed New York Giants GM Joe Schoen, who he recently called out for poor decisions. While Smith was clearly referring to Schoen’s handling of Saquan Barkley last offseason, his remarks came on the heels of a comment about Daniel Jones.
The former Giants quarterback is reportedly set to ink a one-year deal worth $14 million with the Indianapolis Colts. The contract comes as renewed hope for Jones and pales compared to the $40 million deal Schoen handed him previously.

Stephen A. Smith Calls Out GM Joe “S-H-A-M-E”
According to Smith, “I loved seeing 1 year, $14M. That’s about right for Daniel Jones. Not 40 million, like the Giants did.” Of course, he did not stop there.
On First Take, Smith talked about how Schoen handed Jones far too much money and disrespected Barkley on national television. “When they had the cameras rolling and he [Schoen] was so dismissive and disrespectful, and then Saquon goes out and balls out. I call him Shame, GM Shame.”
Stephen A’s scathing remarks did not stop there. He prolonged the verbal assault by spelling out the nickname once again and continuing, “S-H-A-M-E, I don’t even call him by his name, for crying out loud. That’s how pathetic he is, okay?”
However, to avoid throwing the whole staff under the bus, Stephen A. followed his remarks with, “I don’t have no problem with Daboll, though. Daboll can coach, and I think Daboll is going to do a great job. Give him the talent; he knows what to do with it.” We know where the analyst stands on Schoen and Giants head coach Brian Daboll, but how about the actual subject of this news, Jones on the Colts?
Daniel Jones Set to Join Indianapolis Colts
On Jones to the Colts, Stephen A began with “Let’s call it what it is” while talking about the former first-round pick. “I’m not rooting against him or anything like that, but the fact of the matter is he hasn’t shown much.” He waxed poetically about the time when Jones tripped over a ghost on a clear path to the end zone and wrapped up his sentiments, saying, “Show that you belong in this league before you get another damn dime.”
NFL insiders have reported that Jones’s deal is worth up to $17.7 million, including $13.15 million guaranteed. The deal reportedly includes a $6 million signing bonus and $850k in active bonuses.
