‘She Needs a Pay Cut’ – Angel Reese Gets Brutally Mocked by Fans As Unrivaled Clip Exposes Major Shooting Flaw

Angel Reese has been under fire from fans after her viral comments in which she warned that the WNBA players may go on strike if their pay is not raised. The Chicago Sky forward faced heavy scrutiny yet again following Monday’s Unrivaled game between the Rose BC team and Vinyl BC.

While Reese’s Rose BC was dominant, winning 74-46, she had a forgettable shooting night, and fans didn’t leave the chance to troll her pay raise demand.

Angel Reese Mocked For Shooting Flaws Amid Pay Raise Demand

Reese went 5 of 13 from the floor and missed at least six easy looks at the rim during the game. This was a repeat of the scenes witnessed in her rookie year with the Sky last year when she grabbed excellent offensive boards but failed to convert them.

Reese managed just 10 points in the 13 minutes and exited the game with a wrist injury. However, that didn’t stop fans from trolling her, as clips of her missing the easy looks at the rims were all over the internet.

Commenting on one of the clips where Reese missed three shots on the trot, a fan argued that she needed a pay cut instead of a raise.

“She needs a pay cut,” they wrote.

“Id pay her to retire tbh,” another fan wrote.

“She doesn’t deserve MORE money. She DESERVES NBA money. What an embarrassment,” another fan mocked.

Another fan drew a comparison between Reese and LeBron James’ son, Bronny’s inefficiency, writing:

“Her FG % is worse than Bronny.”

However, Reese has been unbothered by the criticism and is continuing to call for an increase in payments for the WNBA players.

“I love how y’all have selective hearing. I said ‘I’m hearing if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,’ and that’s the truth. I never said anything about the NBA. We are prepared to stay at the negotiating table for as long as it takes… I will continue to use my voice to speak for what WE want & deserve as a league. Thank ya,” she wrote on X.

Reese is on a four-year, $324,383 rookie contract with a base salary of $75,000 and has been vocal about WNBA salary struggles. She even once claimed that her paycheck didn’t even cover her rent.

To put WNBA contracts in perspective, Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, signed a four-year, $57 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging $14.25 million per season. Meanwhile, WNBA No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark will earn just $338,056 over the course of her rookie contract.

In fact, an NBA player on a minimum deal for the 2024-25 season earns well over $1 million, meaning even a minimum NBA contract would match Clark’s annual WNBA salary in just six games.

While the NBA generates significantly more revenue, the WNBA has seen a massive rise in popularity over the past year, making the players’ push for higher salaries understandable. How negotiations unfold — and whether the league faces a work stoppage similar to those seen in the NBA — remains to be seen.
