If there’s one thing we know about Kendrick Perkins, it’s that he’ll say just about anything on live TV. But sometimes, it makes absolutely no sense.
Well, it turns out Saturday Night Live noticed, and they didn’t hold back in roasting the ESPN analyst in their latest episode. The skit featured a spot-on impersonation of Perkins, complete with wild takes, bizarre medical diagnoses, and completely made-up facts about LeBron James. And honestly? It was comedy gold.
SNL Mocks Kendrick Perkins’ Wild Takes and Questionable Facts
The sketch opened with Michael Che introducing “NBA champion and ESPN commentator, always outspoken, Kendrick Perkins.” Well, it was actually actor and comedian Kenan Thompson taking a dig at the analyst, and that’s when things got hilariously out of control.
Here’s how it went down as Thompson, playing Perkins, dropped some wild takes.
First, the topic of the Dallas Mavericks trading Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers was discussed. When asked why Dallas would do that, Perkins responded, “Now, there’s a lot of questions about this here trade, but folks on the inside know Luka Dukey is hurt. Okay, now I’m hearing rumors that he got a small tear in his interior crustacean’s uterus.”
It only got wilder from there.
Perkins then confidently stated that, based on his “estimations,” Luka “gonna be dead by April.”
At this point, Che had to step in, asking why he would say that. Perkins’ answer?
“I just be saying things, Michael.” And let’s be real — that is painfully accurate.
It wouldn’t be a true Perkins roast without some completely ridiculous LeBron James analysis.
When asked about the MVP race, Perkins’ pick? LeBron James, who he said won the Tour de France at 55.
Che, clearly confused, tried to fact-check him. But Perkins doubled down: “No, that’s my point. LeBron is 71 years old. He has one arm, 12 kids, and works undercover as a French super spy.”
Thompson was all over the place. Absolutely hysterical.
Perkins Fires Back (Kind Of…)
The skit wrapped up with a nod to Perkins’ ongoing beef with Charles Barkley, who recently called him an “idiot.”
Still portraying Perkins, Thompson fired back, saying, “Do not get me started on that. Charles Barkley, he makes me so mad. You know what? I’m feeling a little hot right now. Beard’s not even real!”
Then, Che was in splits as Thompson ripped off his fake beard. At the end of the day, this SNL skit was all in good fun, but if we’re being honest, they didn’t even have to exaggerate that much.
