A lot has been said about Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the past few days. As a result, his draft stock took a major hit. However, Deion Sanders isn’t buying the negativity surrounding his son ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Deion Sanders Calls Out Pessimism Around Son Shedeur Sanders
In a resurfaced clip from the 2Legendary podcast, reposted by Dov Kleiman on X, Coach Prime made it clear that there might be an ulterior reason behind the hate.
“Why you the only kid in the draft that they’re hating on?” Deion asked Shedeur before answering his own question. “Because they want you to slide to their team.”

Shedeur’s draft stock has been under heavy scrutiny, especially after the NFL Combine, where Miami’s Cam Ward emerged as the top quarterback prospect.
The chatter began when NFL insider Josina Anderson exposed how a coach from a team picking in the top 7 labeled Shedeur as “brash” and “arrogant” in interviews. In her opinion, Anderson labeled the assessment as completely off-base compared to how Sanders interacted with the media at the Combine.
Since then, many voices have been raised, with many split views on the young quarterback. In a similar instance, former NFL scout Daniel Kelly stirred the pot by criticizing Shedeur’s speed based on an outdated 2022 40-yard dash time. That didn’t sit well with Quincy Avery, a respected quarterback coach, who shut down Kelly’s take.
Shedeur Sanders NFL Landing Spots
Shedeur’s case might be overwhelming at the moment, but his future in the NFL is bright. The young quarterback might be heading to the bright lights of New York—at least, that’s what PFSN’s latest 3-round 2025 NFL mock draft suggests. The mock has the Colorado QB landing with the New York Giants at No. 3 overall, giving Big Blue a potential franchise quarterback to build around.
For a while, it looked like the Giants had played themselves out of drafting a top QB after their dominant win over the Colts in Week 17. However, thanks to Cleveland’s usual chaos, the board fell in their favor, opening the door for Shedeur in the Meadowlands.
The son of Prime Time himself, Shedeur is built for the spotlight, and there’s no bigger stage than New York. His arm talent, precision, and ability to extend plays under pressure make him a natural fit for an offense looking for a true leader. He’s got the confidence, the pedigree, and the playmaking ability to thrive in the NFL—and if this mock holds up, the Giants might have their next franchise star.
I wouldn’t take him in the top 3 rounds.
