The Colorado quarterback has been in the spotlight throughout his football career, and that’s still true now more than ever, as the 2025 NFL Draft is just a couple of months away.
Shedeur is currently facing backlash for his “overconfident” demeanor, whether showing off his watch to the student section after a win or stating he can turn things around for a team like the Browns, as he did with his previous two teams.
NFL Analyst Defends Shedeur Sanders Amid Arrogant Attitude Rumors
An NFL journalist, Josina Anderson, recently reported that a quarterbacks coach from a franchise picking in the top 7 referred to Shedeur Sanders as coming off “arrogant” and “brash” in his team interview. He is also making his assessment known to several people.
Discussing this on “The Zach Gelb Show”, Emory Hunt made it clear that he never doubted the Colorado star as he always reminded him of Joe Burrow based on how he plays the position from the neck up.
Hunt also highlighted how Shedeur was playing fantastic football at Jackson State as a freshman, winning black college National Player of the Year, 2x Swag Champion, the Jerry Rice Award and more followed by his success at Colorado.
“You know, you look at what he’s done statistically over the course of his career, finished college football as the most, with the highest completion percentage in college football history. So what you’re hearing now is people’s disdain for Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, and they’re throwing it on his son.
I’ll tell you this: they don’t even like Cam Ward like that. They just don’t like Shedeur Sanders because of his father, as if it was just Cam Ward in this draft, they’d be saying, Oh, he quit on his team. Oh, he has a low delivery with his passes. They’ll mock him too.”

Hunt shared that Shedeur and Cam Ward should go as the top two picks in this year’s NFL draft as either 1 and 2 or 2 and 1.
“So I’m not buying it. Wherever he’s gonna go, him or Cam Ward, you can’t go wrong with either one. They should go one and two or two and one. They should go with the top two picks in the draft.”
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from 24-26th April.
