‘It’s Hard’ – Revisiting Juan Soto’s Heartbreaking Message After Leaving Yankees Amid Backlash

Juan Soto began his MLB career with the Washington Nationals in 2018 and has been one of the most talked-about players in the league since his arrival.

He won a World Series with Washington in 2019, but then in 2022, he was traded to the San Diego Padres. Before the 2024 season, Soto was traded again — this time to the New York Yankees. During that season, he helped the Yankees reach the World Series in a contract year, but they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.

New York Mets Outfielder Juan Soto Makes Interesting Comments About the Yankees

This offseason, Soto signed a 15-year, $765 million deal with the New York Mets. He is only 26 years old and in his prime. Soto could be the missing piece for the Mets, who haven’t won a World Series since 1986. Last season, New York lost to the Dodgers in the NLCS.

With the Yankees last year, Soto hit .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, and seven stolen bases while being caught stealing four times. His on-base percentage was .419.

After signing with the Mets, Soto thanked Yankees fans and said, “I want to say thank you to them… they really show me all the love… they really have a spot in my heart… It’s hard… to leave all the love that they gave me.”

However, an interesting report surfaced on X this week about Soto and the Yankees.

Many Mets fans, however, disputed the report.

One fan said, “Juan Soto did not utter these words. I can promise you that. If you choose to take an Andy Martino speculative bait-tweet as gospel, that’s a ‘you’ problem. But I guarantee this man did not tell a reporter he misses a team he spent one year with and left.”

Another Mets fan said about Martino’s report, “Soto never said this. Martino is always coming up with false things to say. Soto was literally laughing and smiling, having a good time with Alvarez, Marte, etc., in the dugout last night.”

    Another fan added, “Martino clickbait…”

Mets fans have long accused Andy Martino of favoring the Yankees, so this latest report is nothing new. Soto seems happy with the Mets, and this is where he wanted to be for the long run.
