Luka Dončić has hit the ground running after arriving at the Los Angeles Lakers. The point guard showed off his skills on a historic night for the Lakers.
Dončić’s performance against the New Orleans Pelicans has put his name amongst the who’s-who of the Lakers dynasty.
Luka Dončić Registers His Name Amongst the Lakers Greats
Dončić’s stat line on Tuesday night against the Pelicans has placed him in an illustrious list of the Lakers players. The 26-year-old dropped 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 15 assists as the Lakers handsomely defeated the Pelicans 136-115.
In doing so, he became the fourth-ever player in franchise history to have 30+ points and 15+ assists in a single night. Dončić has joined the likes of Jerry West, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James in achieving this feat.

Dončić’s historic performance came on a special night for the Lakers. King James became the first-ever player in NBA history to have 50K+ points to his name. The four-time NBA champion put up 34 points, 8 rebounds, and six assists in 33 minutes.
This special night was capped off by James’ son Bronny James showing off his skills with a viral bucket over three Pelicans players.
JJ Reddick Is in Awe of Dončić’s Abilities
With each passing day, the Lakers’ trade to acquire Dončić is proving to be a great one. Head coach JJ Reddick couldn’t help but admire the Slovenian’s on-court prowess against the Pelicans in the post-game press conference.
“They tried a bunch of different coverages on him [Dončić],” Reddick said. “You know, blitz, the red, the drop. He just, he solved every riddle.”
“Again, we’re excited about the process when we get good shots, and I thought we were able to generate a lot of good shots tonight, and he was at the forefront of that.”
The Lakers will next face off against the New York Knicks at the Crypto.com Arena on March 6. Fans would be hoping for similar performances from the star players once again.
