The calls of nepotism were strong when the Lakers drafted James as the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. However, LeBron’s son has since spent time in the G League and flashed his potential as an NBA rotation player.

On March 4, South Bay reporter Raj Chipalu appeared on the “Buha’s Block” podcast and shared his insights on James’ development.

“He believes he’s an on-ball guard,” Chipalu said. “I still have healthy concerns about that, especially at that size.

“But he’s definitely taken a huge leap from where he was at that first game to now. His confidence is just at a whole other level — to watch a guy that was refusing to shoot to take a bunch of a step back 3s.”
