Anthony Edwards’ Ex Ayesha Howard Shares New Update After Timberwolves Guard’s Legal Notice in Child Support Case

While Anthony Edwards continues to rack up impressive numbers for the Minnesota Timberwolves, averaging 27.4 points per game this season, his legal battle over child support with ex-partner Ayesha Howard is taking new turns.

Shortly after Edwards secured a legal win in a California court and said he doesn’t want custody of his four-year-old daughter, Aubri, Ayesha has exposed their DMs to challenge the narrative that she “trapped” the NBA player for money.

Aubri was born in October 2024, and a DNA test in December confirmed Edwards as her father. However, Ayesha alleged that Edwards asked her to abort the child upon learning about her pregnancy, blocking her from all of the communication platforms, which ultimately led to the current legal battle.

“Upon informing Anthony of the pregnancy, he blocked me on all communication platforms and made it clear, through text messages, that he did not want to be involved in the life of our child. His exact words were that our daughter would be a ‘fatherless child,’ she said in a declaration per court document obtained by InTouch Weekly.

Edwards accepted Aubri as her child following the DNA test in December but made it clear in a recent hearing that he didn’t seek child custody and only wanted to solve the financial issues.

“[Ayesha] and I have one minor child together, Aubri Summer Howard. Paternity was recently established through DNA testing. I am not seeking child custody or visitation of Aubri. Therefore, the only issues to be resolved are financial in nature.”

Ayesha has now hit back at the Timberwolves power forward, refuting claims that she trapped him. The 37-year-old shared DMs of their conversation from 2022, arguing that Edwards was interested in her even before they conceived the child.

“I don’t normally out my DMs but listen, please stop the ‘trapped’ and the one nightstand narrative… this man started pursuing me back in 2022 and literally did not stop pursuing me until he got me and Aubri. He did all of the choosing,” she wrote.

The cases are still ongoing, with a hearing scheduled for March 20 in California. Edwards submitted a motion in the previous hearing arguing that California was the wrong state to determine child support for their daughter, and while the judges sided with him, the final decision is awaited on the 20th.

The three-time NBA All-Star has another daughter, Aislynn, with his longtime girlfriend Shannon Jackson. The couple recently celebrated her first birthday. Meanwhile, Ayesha has a nine-year-old son, Jason, with rapper Lil Baby.
