A former driver in the NASCAR series, Kenny Wallace was all smiles following the 2025 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix that saw Christopher Bell take home his second win of the season. The Sunday race saw a 25% increase in viewership from last year, and Wallace had a special message for the feat.
With over 4.1 million people watching the race, it became the most-watched sporting event of the weekend – something that hasn’t happened for NASCAR in a while.
Kenny Wallace Shares His Take on NASCAR’s Increased Viewership
Taking to X, Wallace had a five-word response to FOX Sports’s announcement of a 25% jump in viewership. He claimed, “@NASCAR is doing REALLY GOOD” with its 2025 season.

Notably, the 15 minutes between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. ET saw the highest number of viewers, with the total crossing 4.8 million. Moreover, the first three races of this season’s Cup Series has seen an average viewership of over 5.2 million, which is 6% more than last year.
However, the increased views aren’t the only thing Wallace is happy about. The close races and photo finishes of 2025 have also refreshed his love for the sport. Speaking on the latest episode of “Coffee with Kenny,” the driver with the most starts in the Xfinity Series wondered why NASCAR was doing “so much better now?”
According to Wallace, everywhere the sport went – be it Bowman Gray, Daytona, Atlanta, and COTA – each race was like a photo finish. If not a photo-finish, then all the drivers are on top of each other, making it nearly impossible to pick out a clear winner mid-race.
While there have been errors by the race authorities that have put a damper on the results, drivers have continued to put on a show for the fans. Thanks to the same, NASCAR’s ratings are going up and the stands are seeing a lot more fans.
