CeeDee Lamb Makes Feelings Clear on His Contract Restructure With the Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb is making his feelings about his contract restructure with the Dallas Cowboys clear: He needs more talent to win.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is making his stance clear on the team’s future and the importance of surrounding elite players with talent. As contract negotiations swirl around linebacker Micah Parsons, Lamb emphasized that success in the NFL requires a collective effort, not just one star.

Lamb, who finalized his own contract extension last offseason, expressed confidence that Parsons will remain in Dallas despite looming negotiations.

CeeDee Lamb Makes Stance on Cowboys’ Talent Clear

He is right, it does take elite talent all around to win, and it isn’t fair to just have one person. Lamb shared on X, “I want to win. It’s gonna take more than just myself.”

The star receiver restructured his contract with Dallas on March 4, 2025, less than a year after reaching terms on the deal, and has been in touch with Parsons throughout the process and remains supportive of his teammate.

“We’ve had plenty of brief conversations to say the least,” Lamb said to DJ Siddiqi. “That’s my guy — I got him, he’s got me. And I’ll never doubt it. Just staying positive throughout this whole thing. I know it’s going to get a little tricky and it’s going to get a little wild, loud, and messy. But at the end of the day, you know your worth.”

Lamb was coming off a record-breaking season heading into 2024, hauling in 135 receptions for 1,749 yards — both franchise highs — as Dallas led the league in scoring under offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. However, the Cowboys went 7-10 the next season and fell short of expectations.

Lamb praised Schottenheimer’s leadership and energy, highlighting his ability to connect with players.  ”Very high energy guy,” Lamb said. “Obviously those things you would not see. Sometimes you would see it on film, you’d see him on the sideline. We make a big play, he is definitely there celebrating with you and everyone loves the player’s coach.”

Schottenheimer, 51, has served as an offensive coordinator for multiple teams dating back to his time with the New York Jets from 2006-11. After nearly three decades in coaching, this season will mark his first as a head coach.

Lamb believes the transition will be smooth given his familiarity with Schottenheimer.
“He’s always involved and continuing to look to be better,” Lamb said. “Should be fun. I’m very excited. Can’t wait. I’ve been in the building plenty of times, we’ll chop it up, have great conversations, and I’m excited.”

Lamb is locked in on the Cowboys’ success, and it’s clear he wants to win. However, he needs the talent and same effort that he puts in from those around him to succeed.
