The shocking events of WWE’s Elimination Chamber have the world talking. It was the heel turn heard around the world as John Cena took Cody Rhodes down with The Rock and Travis Scott watching and assisting.
The utter awe and shock of such a dastardly deed from Cena is what sent the world into a frenzy. With WrestleMania merely six weeks away, the question is, when will you see Cena on WWE television again to explain these actions?
John Cena Will Miss WWE RAW Tonight
Despite making history and shocking the world, it looks as if Cena won’t be appearing this week on WWE RAW. The Rock noted at his press conference following Elimination Chamber that Cena was heading out right after the show to head to Africa.
“What you felt tonight, he didn’t say a word. Look, he came out and dropped the mic. That’s decades of a man who gave everything to this business that I love, and now, it’s coming out. I told him as he left, by the way, he flew in today, this morning, from Budapest.
“He’s flying out right now to Africa to continue. So that’s the level of commitment. I told him as he left, I said, we say two things in our wrestling vernacular. He said, ‘Hey, thank you for the house,’ and I said, ‘I’m proud of you.’ It’s a big deal.”
For Cena to fly in from Budapest then fly right back out to Africa, it shows his commitment to making this happen and work. While he won’t be present at RAW tonight, his next scheduled appearance is set for March 17.
The excitement surrounding that appearance will be through the roof.
What Will Cena’s Next Move Be?
Changing your character and turning heel can be a tough hill to climb for some wrestlers, but Cena is a legend who can comfortably navigate what he wants to do. There are rumblings that his next scheduled return on March 17 could see him alter everything we know about him — from his gear to his theme.
A small note that might come into play later on is that Cena changed his old “Word Life” theme over to his current “The Time Is Now” theme on March 17, 2005.
Could we see a new theme, new gear, and perhaps a new attitude for this version of Cena? This heel turn could bring some of the most exciting television in wrestling history. March 17 can’t get here fast enough.
