Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky believes the Los Angeles Rams are a legitimate Super Bowl contender with Matthew Stafford leading the team. While discussing Stafford’s restructured contract on ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky made it clear that the Rams are firmly back in the Super Bowl conversation for next season.
This past season, the Rams reached the NFC Divisional Round, where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the loss, the Rams kept the game close and had a chance to win late in the contest inside the Eagles’ red zone.

What Did Dan Orlovsky Say About Matthew Stafford and the Rams?
Orlovsky emphasized that Stafford and the Rams should be considered legitimate contenders next season. The clip was posted on the Get Up X (formerly Twitter) profile.
“This is a quarterback that has the chance, and I think he’s gonna be in the Hall of Fame, but a real chance to win another Super Bowl… I think this team can do it again. But, going to the team, this is a real Super Bowl contender. I think the only team that has clearly a better roster in the NFC is the Philadelphia Eagles,” Orlovsky said.
"[The Rams are] a very real Super Bowl contender with [Matt] Stafford."

Stafford led the Rams to a 10-7 regular-season record and an NFC West title this past season. In the playoffs, he threw for 533 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in two postseason games.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams 2025 Outlook
Offensively, the Rams have emerging stars in wide receiver Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Williams, both of whom rank among the best at their respective positions. The team is expected to part ways with veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp, as the Rams have announced he will likely be traded ahead of the 2025 season.
Defensively, the Rams feature key young playmakers in Jared Verse, Kobie Turner, and Braden Fiske—players who played a major role in the team’s playoff success this past season and are expected to continue developing.
With Stafford’s restructured contract in place, the Rams have the necessary pieces on both sides of the ball to compete once again in the NFC. As Orlovsky believes, they have a real shot at contending for the Super Bowl.
