‘He Slapped the S*** Out of Cody Rhodes’ – The Rock Reveals Travis Scott’s Potential in the WWE

After the WWE Elimination Chamber, the wrestling world was stunned with surprises. The most shocking moment was John Cena turning heel and attacking Cody Rhodes. But another major highlight of the night was American rapper Travis Scott’s involvement in the attack.

The Rock Hints at Travis Scott’s Potential Involvement in the WWE

After winning the match, Cena earned the opportunity to challenge the WWE Champion at WrestleMania, to which Rhodes came to meet and congratulate his future opponent.

The Rock and Scott soon joined them in the ring to ask the champion if he was ready to give his soul after The Final Boss had stipulated the offer the week prior. After Rhodes denied the offer, the three men in the ring brutally assaulted him. Most of the damage was done by Cena, but Scott got his licks in as well.

We’ve seen Scott in WWE as a celebrity guest many times before the Elimination Chamber. The last time he stood in the ring was Jan. 6, when Monday Night Raw made its debut on Netflix.

Yet, his appearance this time was something no one expected. Not only did he accompany The Rock to the ring, but he also physically got involved in beating the WWE Champion.

“We have this opportunity to create this big moment in pro wrestling that is arguably one of the biggest, maybe the biggest, and we had an opportunity to bring Travis Scott in too and start to form a union and an alliance with The Final Boss and Travis Scott.

“He wanted to get, to steal a term, he wanted to get his hands bloody. I whispered to him as we were going out, ‘If you get your hands bloody, make it count. Make it count.’ He slapped the s*** out of Cody.”

During the post-show conference, The Rock called it a part of his long-term strategic plan. And when the interviewer directly asked him if we could see Scott in an actual match in the future, here’s what the Final Boss answered:

“Yes, absolutely. That’s why we’re doing it. Long gaming. I love Travis. That’s my guy. Where we have expanded to in WWE, I feel like professional wrestling has always found its unique place in culture throughout the decades. We remember Rock ‘n’ Wrestling, Cyndi Lauper, Hulk Hogan, we remember the Attitude Era. Pro wrestling has had its place in culture for some time.

“I think we are tapping in to a unique time now. I’m not quite sure what we name this era, we’ll all figure it out. Someone will come up with something cool; I’ll say it and take credit for it. I feel like with Travis, he loves the business and loves pro wrestling.”

Scott’s involvement in this storyline can help connect professional wrestling with cultural elements. As The Rock has hinted, we can expect to see the rapper in the ring a few more times on the road to WrestleMania and possibly in an actual match.
