Luka Dončić Sends 4-Word Message to Lakers Fans After Historic 29-Point Game vs. Clippers

Luka Dončić is already winning over Los Angeles Lakers fans. Part of a new culture post-blockbuster trade, the young talent is ready to make his mark alongside LeBron James.

Struggling to put points on the board against the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dončić’s performance on Sunday, March 2, led his team to a 108-102 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Dončić shot 52.9% from the floor, going 5 for 12 from 3-point range. He led the Lakers’ scoreboard, finishing with 29 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

Luka Dončić Has Special Message for Lakers Fans After the Game

Dončić, ecstatic as cheers engulfed Crypto.com Arena, spoke to the media right after the game. Of course, the 26-year-old point guard had a special message for his fans after LA’s sixth straight win.

“Are you enjoying playing in this building? The fans certainly seem to be appreciating the effort,” the reporter asked.

Dončić smiled as he responded, “Hell yeah! It’s nice.”

The victory has also pushed Los Angeles into a tie with the Denver Nuggets as the West’s No. 2 seed, with Dončić and James already being hailed as an iconic duo for the Lakers.

Furthermore, it was a historic game for Dončić, who joined an elite group of athletes by becoming the fifth player to hit at least one 3-pointer in 100 straight games. Other players on the list include stars like Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard and Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry.

Additionally, as per StatMamba on X, Dončić is also the second-fastest Lakers player to reach the 150 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists milestone in franchise history. James, who joined the Lakers in 2018, is the only other player to do it better.

Even his teammates were impressed by the electric performance, praising Dončić as they gear up for a deep playoff run.

“We feed off of it. You got a guy in your corner that’s going supersane, for the lack of a better word. … It’s a lot of fun,” Lakers point guard Gabe Vincent said postgame.

“It can give us a lot of life. … When he gets hot offensively, we feel like we can’t be stopped in that regard.”

Though Dončić had a slow beginning to his Lakers stint, the five-time NBA All-Star seems to have found his footing with a 26.4-point and 9.2-rebound average over his last five games.

This has only increased everyone’s faith in the Dončić-James duo. And with only eight games played, the former’s future with the franchise looks promising.

The Lakers are scheduled to face the New Orleans Pelicans on March 4 at Crypto.com Arena. And with the momentum LA has created, fans remain excited for a possible seventh straight victory.
