Cam Ward is widely projected to be the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, which quarterbacks do you think rule his charts?

The draft is quickly approaching, and Cam Ward has garnered plenty of attention as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. During his appearance at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, the widely ranked No. 1 quarterback prospect dropped his personal rankings of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today.

Cam Ward Dropped His Top 5 Favorite NFL Quarterbacks List

According to Ward, the top five names that he looks up to are Jayden Daniels, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Jalen Hurts. While Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, and Hurts have all proved their worth as reliable team leaders over the years, Daniels is still a new name in the mix.

Ward refrained from naming himself, saying, “I’m not gonna include myself. … I’m not in the league yet.”

Daniels might be the only fresh name on the list, but Ward’s not the only one who is talking about him. Hype about Daniels’ prospects rose at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, leading Washington Commanders general manager Adam Peters to acknowledge their quarterback’s journey.

“Having a quarterback is a great thing. And not just a quarterback, but a really good one who is an awesome person. I’m proud of that and proud of Jayden, what he accomplished. Everything that he’s accomplished,” said Peters.

Daniels led the team to win eight more games in 2024 than they did in 2023, bringing the tally to 12. He amassed 4,459 yards of total offense in the season, making him the fourth rookie quarterback to do so ever.

His performance was proof that he thrives under pressure, and he’s making it clear he will be among the league’s best sooner rather than later. Daniels bagged the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at the NFL Honors ceremony, truly inspiring up-and-coming quarterbacks like Ward.

Ward Addresses His Draft Position at the NFL Combine

Ward also made it clear that he’s not stressing over his draft position.

“Whether it’s the [Tennessee] Titans, [New York] Giants, [Cleveland] Browns, [Las Vegas] Raiders — whether it’s another team that needs a quarterback — I think I’ll be a part of everybody’s solution. The pick will never mean anything, whether the draft was 20 years ago or this draft … the only difference between a first-round and a seventh-round pick is a signing bonus,” said Ward.

It’s no wonder that he’s confident enough to want to put himself in his top five list going forward. Meanwhile, the Miami quarterback has chosen not to throw at the NFL Combine but will take the opportunity to display his arm at his pro day. He believes his tape speaks for itself, and now the only question that remains is whether someone will take a chance on the QB who’s already ranking himself among the greats.
