As Shedeur Sanders slides to the No. 7 overall spot in Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft, the Colorado star still remains one of the most talked-about players in this year’s draft class.
While many analysts believe Shedeur is the best quarterback this year, others believe it’s Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward.
While the debate between the two on who the better quarterback is remains ongoing, many analysts were against Shedeur’s decision not to throw at the NFL Combine, contrary to Skip Bayless’ latest analyses.

Skip Bayless Boldly Defends Shedeur Sanders’ Decision To Not Throw at the NFL Combine
NFL analyst Matt Miller recently made it clear that he thinks the Colorado quarterback is missing an opportunity to prove that he’s the best quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft class, as that’s not the narrative right now and is leaning more toward Cam Ward.
Dismissing this thought process, Skip Bayless shared that he’s seen everything he had to see from Shedeur Sanders and heard everything he has to hear about him in order to make up his mind and that he doesn’t need to see the Colorado star throw at the NFL Combine.
“Shedeur Sanders says he will interview with the teams at the NFL Combine but will not participate on the field until his Pro Day back in Boulder, Colorado. I don’t need to see Shedeur throw in a T-shirt and shorts to uncovered receivers. Is it just me? I wouldn’t even need to interview him. I’ve heard enough from him. I’ve seen enough of him.”
Shedeur Sanders is the realest deal: deadly accurate short or long, rare poise and command of and feel for the position, mobile enough to hurt a defense that dares him to run, as tough as they come and AS CLUTCH AS THEY COME. pic.twitter.com/ZvRS6ZaJVe

“If I’m the Tennessee Titans drafting first overall, I am taking Shedeur Sanders. I want to be on the record with that. Okay, just for the record, it is possible Shedeur’s daddy has quietly made it clear to Tennessee and maybe to Cleveland, picking second, that his son will not play in Nashville or Cleveland.
“Deion Sanders has mentioned publicly that there’s a possibility he’ll pull an Archie, as Archie Manning forced the Chargers to trade Eli to the Giants. That was his draft year. So it is possible Deion will flex his considerable national power and he will make sure that Shedeur is at three for the Giants.”
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from April 24-26.
