Running back Saquon Barkley was drafted by the New York Giants with the No. 2 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, after six seasons, the team decided to let him walk in free agency. This led to Barkley making possibly one of the best decisions of his NFL career.
The running back signed a three-year, $37.75 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the 2024 season. Barkley showcased his potential on the field and won the Super Bowl, making the Giants realize the talent they let go.
And recently, NFL fans reacted to general manager Joe Schoen’s comments reflecting on the running back’s move to their NFC East rival.

NFL Fans React to Giants GM Joe Schoen’s Comments About Saquon Barkley
Giants general manager Joe Schoen was present for the ongoing NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. During the press conference, he was asked if he had any regrets about trading Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Joe Schoen gave a very indirect response to the question, making it look like he was avoiding a direct confrontation.
“I’m happy for Saquon,” Schoen said. “Obviously, he went on to win the Super Bowl, and we wish him nothing but the best. We’re always going to evaluate all the decisions you make. We were at a different place in our build and love Saquon and wish him nothing but the best.”

NFL fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts and opinions on Joe Schoen’s comments.
“How does this guy have a job???” one fan questioned.
“Hey Joe … You weren’t at different places. You said you didn’t think running backs his age had value. Felt his skill set was diminishing. And you completely discounted the locker room leadership,” another fan stated.
“Yup. We’re building the three-win type team,” this fan commented.
“That ‘build’ likely means they’ll suck for years,” another fan said.
“Fire him. His team obviously can’t judge talent level,” this fan wrote.
“Can we send this guy packing yet?” one fan said.
While the Eagles went on to win the Lombardi Trophy, the New York Giants finished with a disappointing 3-14 campaign. Saquon Barkley recorded 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns rushing in the regular season. The running back was also honored as the NFL Offensive Player of the Year in his debut campaign with the Eagles.
