Shedeur Sanders has been quite impressive over the last two years, where he played a pivotal role in leading the Colorado Buffaloes to a postseason bowl game in 2024. In his final season, he helped the team finish 9-4 after going 4-8 the previous season, putting the Buffaloes on the map as one of the emerging powerhouses in college football.
He is expected to create a similar impact when he takes to the NFL, and teams like the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns could be in line to potentially draft the Colorado prospect.

Shedeur Sanders Leaves an Impression on Cleveland Browns’ Coach
The Colorado quarterback was scheduled to speak with the Browns brass first at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. On Wednesday, Feb. 26, after a brief interaction, head coach Kevin Stefanski took to the media and shared his first impressions of Sanders. He looked quite happy about the interaction and raved about the 23-year-old’s maturity when it comes to dealing with the pressure.
“I spent time with a lot of players over the last 48 hours. A lot of speed dating is going on. But Shedeur is a very, very impressive young man who was raised the right way; obviously, he is a heck of a football player, that’s evident off the tape, but really impressed with the person,” Stefanski said to reporters.
Sanders is a dynamic quarterback who’s strength has always been accuracy. He completed the 2024 season with a completion percentage of 74.0%, higher than other top prospects like Cam Ward (67.2%) and Jaxson Dart (69.3%).

Despite his impressive record, experts like Albert Breer have been casting doubts over his skillset. “I think the issue with Shedeur … is, are you special in any one area?” Breer said on “The Herd With Colin Cowherd.”

“Do you have a superpower trait? Or are you an average athlete with an average arm in an NFL context? … Where is the superpower that’s gonna make you want to take him in the top five?” he added while questioning what makes Sanders stand out.
Looking at the current NFL Draft order, the Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick. They are in dire need of a QB, and a prospect like Sanders could benefit the team a lot. However, the availability of players like Travis Hunter and Cam Ward shuns his chances. If not, the Browns, the New York Giants, and the Las Vegas Raiders are other potential landing spots for the quarterback.

In PFSN’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Browns selected Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Sanders No. 2 overall.
“While the Cleveland Browns may not be the most desirable landing spot for off-field elements for Shedeur Sanders, it is far from a bad situation for the Colorado quarterback. The Browns have a lot of pieces in place around Sanders and were really only held back by the quarterback play in 2024,” Ben Rolfe wrote.
“Sanders is a promising NFL prospect. He is a pocket passer with enough mobility to make him effective. There are concerns about his arm strength, but he mitigates those with his compact release and impressive accuracy. Those mechanics can hide concerns when pressured, which is a concern with the Browns’ offensive line ranking 20th last season.”
