Matthew Stafford’s future with the Los Angeles Rams is suddenly a hot topic. The veteran quarterback, who threw for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns last season, has been the face of the franchise since arriving in 2021 and winning Super Bowl 56. But now, after the Rams reportedly made it known they’re open to moving him, speculation is running wild about where he could land next.
One of the more intriguing scenarios linked Stafford to the Las Vegas Raiders. Rumors recently surfaced that Raiders minority owner Tom Brady had personally hosted Stafford at his Montana home, recruiting him to Las Vegas. The story took off, fueling questions about whether Brady was already making big moves behind the scenes.
Now, Brady’s longtime agent, Don Yee, is shutting those rumors down.

Tom Brady’s Agent Calls Stafford Rumor ‘Inaccurate’
As speculation arose about whether the news about Brady and Stafford was true, NFL insider Tom Pelissero took to X to provide some much-needed clarity.
“Reached for comment about an Internet rumor that Tom Brady hosted Matthew Stafford on a recruiting visit in Montana, Brady’s longtime agent Don Yee told me: ‘I know that reporters sometimes make mistakes in their haste, but this story’s inaccurate.’”

Yee’s statement is a firm denial, but it hasn’t stopped people from wondering if there’s more to the story. After all, the idea of Brady using his influence as a Raiders part-owner to recruit a proven quarterback isn’t far-fetched—especially with Las Vegas in desperate need of a long-term answer at the position.
Tom Brady’s Dual Role: Owner and Analyst
Brady is entering a fascinating chapter of his post-playing career, juggling roles in both NFL ownership and broadcasting. As a minority owner of the Raiders and a lead analyst for FOX Sports, he’s uniquely positioned to impact the league in ways few former players ever have.
While his involvement in personnel decisions isn’t fully clear, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Brady use his influence to attract top talent to Las Vegas. Whether it’s Stafford or another veteran quarterback, the Raiders remain one of the most quarterback-needy teams in the league.
Brady and Stafford: A Ski Town Coincidence?
Despite the recruitment rumor, it’s worth noting that both Brady and Stafford own homes in the same exclusive Montana ski community. That fact alone makes it plausible that the two simply crossed paths rather than planned a high-stakes recruitment meeting.

Conflicting reports from top insiders haven’t helped clear the air. FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz initially reported that Brady hosted Stafford, actively trying to convince him to join the Raiders. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, however, contradicted that, stating the two “ran into each other” at the resort, calling it an unplanned and brief interaction.
With the Rams reportedly listening to trade offers, Stafford’s future remains uncertain. Whether or not Brady had a hand in trying to bring him to Las Vegas, the veteran quarterback’s situation will be one to watch as the offseason unfolds.
