Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders ended his 2024 campaign regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft pool alongside Miami (FL) QB Cam Ward. With the selection process just a few months away, many are wondering where the two will land.
Sanders, for his part, is often projected to go to the Big Apple and has hinted at his hopes of being drafted by one of New York’s teams, from his Alamo Bowl cleats to his game of catch with Malik Nabers.

Daniel Jeremiah on Shedeur Sanders’ Fit With Jets, Giants
Despite the connections being drawn between Sanders and both New York teams, NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah suggested Sanders won’t be playing for either the Jets or the Giants.
Replying to a question regarding his perceived gap between Sanders and Ward, Jeremiah said, “Yeah, when I first watched the quarterbacks, I stacked them right next to each other, and they’re totally different in terms of strengths and weaknesses. The more that I’ve done, the more that I’ve kind of created some separation, and that’ll be reflected when the top 50 comes out next week, the updated top 50.”
“I like Shedeur, I think Shedeur is … when you look at the things he does really well. The accuracy, anticipation, the toughness, he just keeps getting up after taking a beating. But some other things that Cam has that he doesn’t have, with just a little more twitch in his body, he’s got a more live arm.”

Jeremiah then explained why Sanders would be a better fit elsewhere.
“I think he’s more equipped to play in that division in that stadium, in that environment that you’re going to get. I think Shedeur makes more sense just as relying a little bit more as a touch thrower than a power thrower,” Jeremiah said.
“I think he makes more sense when you look at the [New Orleans Saints], who make sense to me, the [Las Vegas Raiders] make sense to me. So more so about fit than anything else when it comes to those guys.”
Accordingly, PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL mock draft by Joe DeLeone has Sanders is projected to be selected as the No. 6 overall player by the Las Vegas Raiders.
