After head coach Steve Kerr revealed a positive injury update regarding Jonathan Kuminga and his return to the court, Golden State Warriors fans cannot help but feel that their team is on the verge of making a comeback.
Despite being considered one of the most successful franchises in recent basketball history, the Warriors have been struggling this season and haven’t lived up to expectations. While there could be several reasons, injuries have also played a role in holding them back. Thankfully, Kerr has some positive news on that subject.
Jonathan Kuminga Has Finally Returned for Warriors Scrimmages
To those who might not be informed, Kuminga sustained an ankle injury back in early January and has played in only 32 games so far this season, to which he’s averaged almost 17 points and five rebounds.
Losing Kuminga midway through the season may have played a role in the Warriors’ decision to make the trade for Jimmy Butler, even if it meant giving up Andrew Wiggins.
According to Kerr, Kuminga has finally returned to practice for GSW and participated well in their most recent scrimmages. Since scrimmages replicate the movements that players utilize in official games, this is a good sign.
“He looked good…Everything is coming along as we hoped.”

Fans who heard that Kuminga was on the verge of making a return to the team could not hold back their excitement. After all, the young Golden State star will join a lineup with Butler, and since Kuminga is incredibly athletic and an elite defender, he’s expected to find success alongside him and Stephen Curry.
At the moment, there are currently 25 games left in the regular season for the Warriors and clearly have momentum on their side after adding Butler to their lineup. Kuminga’s return will add yet another spark of life to this team.
Given that Curry is in the final stages of his career and Butler has yet to win an NBA championship, there is no denying that this Warriors team is a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. Fans are left wondering if they will be able to secure a spot in the postseason and what they could potentially accomplish in a talented Western Conference.
