The Cincinnati Bengals had one of the more frustratingly disappointing seasons of recent memory in 2024. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase put up prolific numbers playing in all 17 games but the Bengal defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed and the team missed the playoffs finising 9-8.
WWE Monday Night Raw stopped in Cincinnati and Logan Paul crafted some expert heel work taking a cheap shot at the city.

Logan Paul Says Cincinnati Has Already Wasted Joe Burrow, Gets Mercilessly Booed
Burrow was the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and quickly solidified himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He showed flashes his rookie year but a major knee injury in Week 11 ended his season early. Burrow’s break out season came in 2021 when the team added Ja’Marr Chase, won their first playoff win since 1990, and made Super Bowl 56.
Burrow threw for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions that year and Cincinnati finished 10-7. He also led the league in completion percentage (70.4%) and won his first Comeback Player of the Year award. The Benals defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game to secure their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1988 season, and Burrow entered the upper-eschlon of NFL quarterbacks.
Cincinnati failed to win Super Bowl 56 but knew it finally had a difference maker at quarterback.
Burrow stayed hot the following season throwing for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while leading the Bengals to a 12-4 record and the AFC’s No. 3 seed. He knocked off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills before falling to Kansas City in an AFC Championship Game rematch.
Speculation began about Burrow’s contract situation as he was free to begin negotiations after his third season. The Bengals have historically been one of the cheaper teams in the league but they broke open the bank to give their quarterback a five-year, $275 million extension before the 2023 season began. The deal made Burrow the highest-paid player in NFL history, however, his season was cut short by a torn wrist ligament.
Cincinnati finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs with Burrow throwing for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 10 games.
The 2024 season was legendary for the quarterback as he once again won the CPOY award throwing for 4,918 yards and 43 touchdowns on 460 completions. All three numbers led the league and Burrow was elected to his second Pro Bowl. The Bengals missed the playoffs again but the offense was not the problem.
It’s hard to say Cincinnati has wasted Burrow’s career so far, but Paul decided to say that directly to Bengals’ fans faces on the latest Monday Night Raw.
"You guys waste talent, look what you did to Joe Burrow"

In a classic heel promo Paul said, “You guys waste talent, look what you did to Joe Burrow.” He was mercilessly booed by the hometown fans.
The Bengals have a history of wasting talent or letting it walk out the door when it’s time for a new contract, but that can’t be said about how they’ve handled Burrow. The 2025 offseason is the most important in franchise history as they’ve already overhauled the defensive staff, and both Chase and Tee Higgins are looking for new deals.
Chase is in line for the largest non-quarterback contract in the history of the league and the team will reportedly place the franchise tag on Higgins for the second straight year. Keeping the band together is a must for the Bengals, and Burrow has been very vocal about wanting his guys to get paid. Hopefully Cincinnati’s front office will listen.
They haven’t wasted Burrow yet, but more years of missing the playoffs would put them firmly in that spot.
