‘Gave Him My First High-Level Whip’ – Coach Prime Reveals Shedeur Sanders’ First Car

Coach Prime Deion Sanders reveals what Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders' first car was in recent YouTube video.

Earlier in the week, Coach Prime revealed the make and model of the first car he gave to Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders. Prime Time Deion Sanders outlined how he presented his 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC to his son while Shedeur was still in high school.

What Did Coach Prime Say About Shedeur Sanders’ First Car?

Prime made clear that Shedeur did not understand the true impressiveness of the car he was gifted. The video in full was released to YouTube by the popular account ‘Reach The People Media’.

“I gave him [Shedeur Sanders] my first high level whip. It wasn’t my first whip because I had cars when I was in high school. But, that was my first high level whip that I paid for when I was coming, when I was going into the pros. And, I blessed him with it. He didn’t understand the level. It still only has like 79,000 miles on it, so imagine what it was like you know, when he was in high school,” Coach Prime stated.

Deion has been coaching Shedeur in football since high school. Their connected journey through football began when Deion became the offensive coordinator at Trinity Christian High School, the secondary school that Shedeur attended.

Then, both Shedeur and Deion eventually moved to the Jackson State Tigers program. Finally, both father and son moved to the University of Colorado Boulder, where they have played and coached for the past two seasons.

However, it appears as though their football journey together may be finished, at least for the near future, with Shedeur widely expected to be taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders 2025 NFL Draft Projection

Sanders is a strong pocket passer who has an accurate arm and elite football IQ. He has done well at the college level reading defensive schemes and pressure at the line of scrimmage.

Sanders was extremely impressive last season for the Buffaloes. He had 4,134 passing yards, 41 total touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and a spectacular 74.0% completion percentage on the campaign.

In PFSN’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Sanders was selected No. 2 overall by the Cleveland Browns.

“Sanders is a promising NFL prospect. He is a pocket passer with enough mobility to make him effective. There are concerns about his arm strength, but he mitigates those with his compact release and impressive accuracy. Those mechanics can hide concerns when pressured, which is a concern with the Browns’ offensive line ranking 20th last season.”
