‘One of the Most Overrated QBs in the Game’ – Fans React to Cardinals Owner’s Latest Comments on Kyler Murray’s Future With Franchise

Cardinals fans do not share the same understanding regarding quarterback Kyler Murray as Arizona owner Michael Bidwell.

Kyler Murray is set to start his seventh year in the NFL. However, many believe that the 2019 NFL Draft overall first-round pick hasn’t lived up to his potential.

While many suspected the Arizona Cardinals of potentially moving away from Murray, owner Michael Bidwill’s comments surprised fans.

Fans Are Not on the Same Page as Michael Bidwill Concerning Kyler Murray

Last week, Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort unequivocally stated that he considers Murray among the players on the roster that need improvement. However, the owner is singing a different tune, suggesting a build-up around him.

In a recent interview with ArizonaSports.com, Bidwell highlighted his intention regarding the quarterback. “What he is a dual-threat quarterback,” he said. “When he’s healthy, he scares every defensive coordinator, and he has a chance to change the game with his feet and with his arm.”

“When you look at it, we’ve got to continue to rely on him, and he’s got to play at a high level. He knows that. He’s working hard – He needs to take the next step, and we’re excited about our future with Kyler. He’s a great quarterback. I think we need to continue to build around that offense for him.”

Bidwell’s comments did not go down well with NFL fans on Reddit. They pointed out errors with this mindset, with Murray and the owner himself.

“One of the most overrated QBs in the game,” replied one fan.

“Kyler is too good of a QB to get rid of but also not good enough that you feel great about him being the center of your franchise,” commented a fan.

“Bidwell needs to Buildwell,” added a fan.

“At some point Kyler Murray is going to have to step up, this is year seven now and he’s on his second contract. He’s yet to win a playoff game, and the one playoff game he played in, he was horrible,” posted a fan.

“Every season building around Kyler Murray is a season wasted,” added another fan.

“Kyler has always struck me as an uber-talented guy who just doesn’t seem to give a s**t about the game,” one fan commented.

In his seven seasons, Murray has registered 19,498 passing yards and 115 passing touchdowns. He also has 3,020 rushing yards and 31 rushing TDs, with an overall record of 35-45-1.
