Luka Dončić has finally begun to display why the Los Angeles Lakers traded away Anthony Davis and paired him up with LeBron James. Since Dončić got off to a slow start in his first few games for the Lakers, fans were beginning to get concerned and wondered if he would be able to get back into form. Nevertheless, he managed to silence any of his new doubters with his most recent performance against the Denver Nuggets.
Luka Dončić Helps LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers Crush the Denver Nuggets
Fans who have been following the playoffs over the past few years will know all about the recent rivalry between the Nuggets and Lakers. Although both teams have won championships over the past five seasons, the Nuggets have established themselves as superior to the Lakers by eliminating them from the playoffs twice.
Given that both of their postseason series’ ended with Denver winning in a one-sided fashion, Los Angeles clearly felt the pressure heading into this matchup. Dončić did not play in LA’s last game against the Portland Trail Blazers and had scored below 20 points in his first three games with the team.

Dončić proved that he was simply getting into a rhythm and developing chemistry with his new teammates.
“I think we still got a lot of improvement. This is my fourth game. So chemistry takes some time. But you see today after three games, it’s getting better. So every day is going to get better.”
Dončić certainly seemed to be doing better. After all, he led the Lakers to victory against the Nuggets and finished the night with 32 points and 10 rebounds while also adding seven assists and four steals. His impressive performance helped Los Angeles win 123-100 and end the Lakers’ eight-game losing streak (including playoffs) in Denver.
Many NBA experts assumed that adding Dončić to the roster was a move that the Lakers made for the future. However, there’s no denying that both he and James are eager to develop their team chemistry at a rapid pace and have win-now aspirations.
Fans are left wondering not just what the organization’s future looks like but also what the Lakers will be able to accomplish this season.
