Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs Teammate Predicts ‘Revenge Tour’ for the Superstar QB After Super Bowl Loss

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs failed to three-peat in 2024, so how does the QB bounce back? His teammate sees a "Revenge Tour" in 2025.

The Kansas City Chiefs laid an egg in Super Bowl 59, losing 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles. Their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had one of the worst playoff performances in his career, getting sacked six times and throwing two first-half interceptions.

The Chiefs need to retool in the offseason, obviously, but how will Mahomes handle his second Super Bowl loss? His teammate, defensive end Charles Omenihu, had a blunt answer for that question on a recent “Up & Adams” appearance.

Teammate Says Patrick Mahomes Will Be on ‘Revenge Tour’ in 2025

Kansas City’s offense lost the explosiveness it’s known for in 2024. Mahomes failed to eclipse 4,000 passing yards for the first time since becoming the starting quarterback, throwing for 3,928. He had 26 touchdowns (tied for fewest in his career) and 11 interceptions, and he wasn’t elected to the Pro Bowl for the first time since his rookie season.

Despite the down year, Mahomes wasn’t the problem for Kansas City. The Chiefs lost some firepower when second-year receiver Rashee Rice tore his LCL in Week 4. It also took rookie Xavier Worthy some time to mesh with Mahomes. He became a dangerous weapon in the back half of the season but only finished with 59 receptions, 638 receiving yards, and six touchdowns.

The biggest disappointments for Kansas City were Travis Kelce and the offensive line. Kelce has been a stalwart for the Chiefs but had his worst statistical season in 2024, posting 97 catches, 823 yards, and three touchdowns. He didn’t add any postseason magic like 2023, finishing with just 13 catches, 175 yards, and one score in the playoffs.

Statistically, this was the worst offensive line Mahomes has ever played behind. The quarterback was sacked 36 times (most in his career), and all season long there was a revolving door at left tackle. They’ll have to address that (and right guard if Trey Smith leaves for free agency), so expect the Chiefs to be active in the draft.

So what does Mahomes do to bounce back in 2025? On his recent “Up & Adams” appearance, Omenihu thinks we’ll see a more focused Mahomes.

Kay Adams asked, “What do you think this maniac is gonna be like in the next 10 months?”

Omenihu responded, “On a revenge tour. Extreme focus. Taking even more control of the organization. We’re gonna get my boy Rashee [Rice] back, so that’s gonna be great with how X[avier Worthy] has been playing. Hopefully, they’ll be able to figure out the rest of the pieces.”

“He probably felt like he didn’t have his best performance. Him being who he is and being the best quarterback in the league, he wants to come back and have one of those big seasons. I think he’ll be someone that’s on a mission for sure.” This is a common response by all-time greats after a setback, and Omenihu thinks Mahomes will follow that path.

Kansas City lost Super Bowl 55 and Mahomes responded with 4,839 yards and 37 touchdowns the next season. The Chiefs lost in the AFC Championship Game that year, but Mahomes didn’t let the setback hold him down. PFSN has predicted the team will add Keenan Allen this offseason, so the plan seems to be to reload the offense.

A “revenge tour” Mahomes is a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
