    Booker’s Scouting Report

Raised in Connecticut, Booker initially attended high school in New Canaan, Conn., before he finished off his high school years at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He was a four-star recruit and committed to play college football at Alabama.

The 2022 season served as a rotational season for Booker, as he only started in one game as a true freshman. That said, he still ended up taking 427 offensive snaps that year, playing at both guard spots.

Booker stepped into the starting lineup full-time as the Crimson Tide’s left guard in 2023, and he earned CSN second-team All-SEC recognition for how well he performed as a true sophomore. He allowed just two sacks and three hurries in that season. He also made an appearance as a second-team All-SEC lineman in the list curated by conference coaches.

Heading into the 2024 season, Booker shed a significant amount of weight, and his play ended up improving as a result. He didn’t allow a single sack all year on 395 pass-blocking reps, earning All-American nods as a junior guard and landing on CSN’s All-SEC team as an honorable mention.

Though he still had another year of eligibility left, Booker took advantage of his momentum and NFL buzz and declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

    Strengths

    • Thick, physical guard who maximizes his raw strength with his determination at the point of attack.
    • Packs a powerful punch and showcases ideal grip strength when locked up with defenders.
    • Maintains a low center of gravity, which makes it very difficult for interior defensive linemen to push the pocket against him and win the leverage battle.
    • Has long arms and large hands for a guard, which helps him lock out defenders from the inside of his frame.
    • For a big guard, he showcases good body control rolling his hips through contact to seal off run defenders.
    • Does a good job of finding work in pass protection if he doesn’t have a defender directly over him.
    • Lower-half flexibility helps him stay low and stay in control of his movements.
    • Processes well against blitzes and exotic rush packages.
    • Angles as a zone-run blocker improved in 2024.
    • Touted for having high football character and was a team captain in his junior year.

    Weaknesses

    • Weight has fluctuated a bit in college, as he weighed above 350 pounds before the 2023 season.
    • Run-blocking PFF grade in 2024 was only 63.9, as opposed to his 86.5 pass-blocking grade.
    • Hand placement is still a work in progress, as he lands too wide sometimes and doesn’t have a perfect strike location.
    • Tends to lunge a little bit too often, which can make it tougher for him to maintain balance.
    • Lateral quickness isn’t anything to necessarily write home about.
    • Struggles athletically against stunts when edge rushers shoot across his frame.

    Current Draft Projection and Summary

If you’re looking for a sturdy anchor at guard who can dish out punishment as well as he can absorb it, Booker is your guy.

With a low center of gravity and a thick, well-proportioned frame, Booker is very tough to move at the point of attack. His powerful lower half helps him neutralize power rushes along the interior, and his flexibility helps him maximize his power.

Booker won’t necessarily wow you in space, though he did look a bit quicker after he lost weight before the 2024 season. His hand placement needs work, though there’s a lot to like in his game elsewhere.

Given his coordination, his length at guard, and the way he gets the most out of the power he has throughout his frame, Booker could end up selected in the first round. Guards typically don’t have as much positional value as tackles, but it still wouldn’t be surprising to see the Alabama star come off the board on Thursday of the 2025 NFL Draft.
