The Dallas Cowboys have long been known as America’s Team. The Cowboys’ fanbase stretches all across the nation and can be found in all corners of the country. They haven’t been to a conference championship in almost 30 years, though, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ fans are poking fun at their division rivals.
Fresh off a Super Bowl win, the Eagles are in full celebration mode. The fans packed the streets for their championship parade and took every chance to let the Cowboys know how they were feeling.

A New America’s Team? Eagles Fans Call Out the Cowboys
At the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia, even the Pennsylvania governor took a shot at Dallas.
“You hear that Dallas? The Eagles are America’s Team,” said Governor Josh Shapiro.

When you’re on top, you’re on top. Eagles fans are not letting this moment pass them by. They want America to know that they are the team to beat and advertise themselves as the new America’s Team. Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, they don’t have recent success in defending their title as the Eagles have won two Super Bowls since they last made a conference championship.
Eagles fans at the parade came with signs about the Cowboys too. One fan let Cowboys fans know that they were at work while Eagles fans were lining the streets to celebrate and party.

The Eagles have all the bragging rights right now and will go after their division rivals at any chance they can. Whether they now own the monicker of America’s Team can be debated, but what cannot be argued is the product they have put on the field in recent history.
Cowboys legend Michael Irvin spoke up on the America’s Team nickname while current Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb went on record saying Eagles fans were better than Cowboys fans.
CeeDee Lamb, Michael Irvin’s Thoughts on the Cowboys
Irvin spoke on the Cowboys’ recent failures and their inability to win in the postseason, speaking on behalf of all Cowboys fans on their desire to see some change. The Cowboys continue to flounder when it matters most. The America’s Team title has carried a lot of meaning throughout the NFL, but he might be willing to admit that the Cowboys might not be that team anymore.
“So not only are you losing football games over here and opportunities over here and divisions over here, you’re about to get our [America’s Team] moniker snatched off our backs,” Irvin said.
The Cowboys need to turn it around or the Eagles might have a case to be America’s Team. To make matters worse for Cowboys fans, Lamb admitted the Eagles fans have more passion right now than Cowboys fans.
“Our fans are deep but, I don’t wanna say nothing crazy, but the Eagles got it,” Lamb said about Eagles fans.
This is not what Cowboys fans want to hear from their star player. Their case to be America’s team is fading as their team success fades as well. Irvin and Lamb hold important positions in the Cowboys past and present, and these comments do not bode well for the current holders of the America’s Team title.
