Colorado star Travis Hunter, who is also projected to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, seems to have made a decision about what position he wants to play permanently in the league.
The Heisman Trophy winner is most popular for his ability to play impressively on both sides of the ball; however, many analysts believe he wouldn’t be able to do so in the NFL.

Fans React As Travis Hunter Gears Up To Join the NFL Combine as a Cornerback
The NFL compiled and released a list of 329 players that will be working out at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine; four of them are players from the Colorado Buffaloes, including Travis Hunter.
While many fans wondered whether Hunter would attend the event as a wide receiver or as a cornerback, the NFL has now revealed in the released list that the Heisman Trophy winner will be playing as a cornerback in the NFL Combine.
Reacting to this, “That’s the thing with him he’s obviously a great football player but he’s not the best at either position. I can honestly see him falling a little.”
“Probably better as CB but he would made so much more money as WR. Not even top end guys make really good money. Vs top end CBs.” another fan added.

“No one thought otherwise lol bro was literally bottom 30 at the WR position. Lots of his catches was winning 50/50 balls , great skillet for a CB.” another fan commented.
“That’s dumb on his part. The highest paid players at the WR position compared to the highest paid DBs is like 6 million dollar plus.” another fan added.
Another fan pointed out, “I think he will end up playing both ways at some point, but whoever picks him up will start him as a CB.”
“Im glad he participating most like him be like f*** it im going top 10 anyways regardless.” another fan added.
During an appearance on the Rich Eisen show, Deion Sanders also alerted the NFL teams not to draft Hunter if they’re not going to allow him to play both positions because he knows he can handle it.
The NFL Combine will take place in Indianapolis from February 24 through March 3.
