Shedeur Sanders Outraged at Viral NFL Mock Draft Projection

Shedeur Sanders shared his outrage at the viral 2025 NFL mock draft projecting him to fall in the pecking order.

Shedeur Sanders is set to be one of the hottest prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft with consistent top-10 projections.

However, if one of the latest mock drafts is to be believed, the Colorado quarterback’s draft stock may be dipping a bit. Sanders isn’t thrilled at where he’s projected to go in this latest mock draft, calling out the NFL reporter.

Shedeur Sanders Displeased With Recent Mock Draft

In ESPN’s Field Yates’ latest 2025 NFL mock draft, the 23-year-old is expected to go to the Las Vegas Raiders at the sixth overall pick. Yates predicts that Sanders will be the quarterback of the future for the Raiders. This is a common projected landing spot for Sanders, who was unhappy with the projection.

“We’ll see whether the Raiders feel the need to try to move up the board to secure a quarterback, but in this scenario, they can land the best pure passer in the draft right at No. 6,” Yates wrote.

The son of two-time Super Bowl champion and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders couldn’t believe Yates had him falling to No. 6 in his mock draft.

“That’s cap, bruh; I ain’t going 6th,” Sanders responded in the video below. “That’s why I don’t be having TVs in my house.”

According to Yates’ mock draft, another top QB prospect, Cam Ward out of Miami, is expected to be drafted higher than Sanders — going No. 3 overall to the New York Giants.

Sanders’ Draft Projection in PFSN’s Latest Mock Drafts

From the Feb. 11 mock draft by PFSN’s Owain Jones, Sanders is projected to get drafted by the Giants as the No. 3 overall pick, while Ward leads the draft class by becoming the No. 1 pick and landing with the Tennessee Titans.

The latest Feb. 13 PFSN mock draft by Brentley Weissman has the same projection as Yates, with Sanders going to the Raiders at No. 6 and Ward being picked up by the Giants as the No. 3 overall pick.

Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Chase Daniel explained why the NFC South team would be a great landing spot for Shedeur Sanders.

Here’s what Weissman wrote about Sanders to the Raiders: “Perhaps one of the most commonly mocked team and player fits, Sanders to Las Vegas just feels right. The Raiders are in desperate need of a quarterback and Shedeur Sanders has the talent to be the team’s new franchise passer.

“Sanders may not have elite physical tools, but he throws with very good accuracy, timing, and touch. He should go a long way in bringing some much-needed excitement to Sin City.”

It is no secret that the Raiders are in the market for a new QB and will look to land a new signal-caller either via this year’s draft class or a free-agent signing or trade.

Tom Brady Will Play Crucial Role In Finding Next QB

One thing is certain: Raiders minority owner Tom Brady will be very involved when it comes to finding the Raiders’ next quarterback. Head coach Pete Carroll made this clear during his introductory press conference.

“It’s our mission to build our team around the QB position… it isn’t the only spot. We happen to have the greatest of all time to help us, and we are gonna lean on Tom as much as we can for his insights because nobody has the insights that he has — he is that unique.

“But the QB position is one of the [most important] positions of the team and we got to make it fit all together well. You know, I have pretty good success with my QBs in the past, you can go all the way back to my college days and they have all turned out to be really extraordinary members of our club.

“There’s a way to embrace the challenge the QB has for the rest of the football team as well. We need to support our guy, and we need to do what we can to make that work. It’s really about making a great football team around the QB position. Coach [Bill] Walsh taught me a long time ago that it’s the hardest position in professional sports to play, and we need to make it as easy for them as possible.

“We do that by running the football, protecting them, taking care of the ball, [playing] great defense, kicking the ball when we want to kick it, and so there’s a lot that goes into it. But just think about how fortunate we are to have Tom Brady — it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

These days, Brady is essentially running the Raiders, so it’s no surprise that he would also have plenty of say in who will be under center for Las Vegas next season.

During a recent episode of “The Ryen Russillo Podcast,” The Athletic’s Dianna Russini revealed just how much Brady calls the shots behind the scenes in Las Vegas.

“Let’s just start with making it really clear that Tom Brady is running everything in Vegas. It’s all Tom Brady,” Russini said. “I’m telling you, it’s all Tom Brady there. I mean, even his own TB12 programs are being installed, so to speak.”

Brady’s fingerprints are all over every major decision within the franchise, from personnel moves to the decision to hire Carroll to training regimens, so he’s much more involved than your typical minority owner.

Now, it’ll be interesting to see who Brady targets as the Raiders’ next signal-caller.
