After ending 2024 with a 10-7 record and winning their fourth straight NFC South title, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are feeling good about their future. Led by Baker Mayfield, who had the best year of his career, the Bucs exceeded expectations and proved they could compete against the top teams in the NFL.
Mayfield threw for 4,500 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions while completing 71.4% of his passes. He also added 378 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, finishing the season with a PFN QB+ rating of 87.9 (B+), proving himself as one of the most reliable quarterbacks the league has to offer.
Despite their regular season success, Tampa Bay fell short in the playoffs, losing a nail-biter to the Washington Commanders in the NFC Wild Card round, 23-20. Now, as the Bucs look to take that next step, one of their biggest stars has made it clear what he thinks the team should do.

Mike Evans On Myles Garrett: ‘He’ll Look Great In Bucs Red’
Myles Garrett, one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL, recently requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns after their disastrous 3-14 season.
With the Browns in turmoil (as usual) and likely heading towards a rebuild, Garrett is looking for a fresh start with a contender — and Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans decided to start the recruiting process for his team in a recent interview.
Speaking on the Loose Cannons podcast, Evans dropped a funny comment when talking about Garrett: “He’ll look great in Bucs red.”

It’s no secret why Evans, or anyone in the NFL for that matter, would want Garrett on their team. Adding a player of his caliber would instantly help elevate any team’s defense and could be exactly what the Bucs need to get them over the hump.
Could Garrett Be the Missing Piece in Tampa?
Tampa Bay’s defense had its moments last season but struggled to close out tight games and finished with a PFN Defense+ rating of 74.5 (C). While it boasted playmakers like Vita Vea and Antoine Winfield Jr., it lacked an elite edge rusher to disrupt opposing quarterbacks consistently. Garrett, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, would instantly change that.
Despite Cleveland’s rough season, Garrett remained dominant, recording double-digit sacks for the seventh straight year. His unique combination of power, speed, and technique makes him a nightmare for offensive linemen, and pairing him with Vea in the trenches would give the Bucs one of the most fearsome defensive duos in the league.
Had Garrett been on the field against the Commanders in the Wild Card game, could he have been the difference that Tampa Bay needed to win? It’s hard to say for sure, but adding him to this roster would undeniably make the Bucs a more complete team heading into next season.
