Amid NFL Draft Rumors, Shedeur Sanders Stuns Colorado Teammates With His Surprise Boulder Visit

Shedeur Sanders made sure to spend time with his former teammates at Colorado in the midst of his preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft in April, where Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to go inside the top five, the passer paid a visit to his recent stomping grounds, visiting the school’s training facility.

Sanders, with the help of his teammates, turned the one-win Colorado program into a conference title contender in just two years. He arrived ahead of the 2023 season alongside his father/coach Deion Sanders and two-way phenom Travis Hunter. He introduced himself with a 4-8 season but helped the Buffaloes get to the Alamo Bowl with a 9-4 2024 campaign.

Shedeur Sanders Went Back to Colorado To Surprise Teammates

After months of activities from brand endorsements and Shrine Bowl appearances, Sanders made time to get back to the campus he helped revitalize.

On Tuesday, he made a surprise visit to the training facility in Boulder, greeting his teammates with whom he shared the field in 2024.

He also met his potential successor, Julian Lewis, who signed with the Buffaloes on National Signing Day. The Carrollton High School product is ranked seventh among QBs in the Class of 2025.

Sanders’ older brother, Deion Sanders Jr., who shares behind-the-scenes coverage in Boulder, posted the reunion on X.

Sanders Decides To Be With Colorado Family on Draft Day

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay. The Heisman-winning Hunter has already said that he will be at the draft to see his name get called in person. However, his quarterback, Sanders, has decided to stay back with his family in Colorado and enjoy the celebration that comes with getting drafted with his loved ones back in Boulder.

Sanders revealed his plans via Overtime that he and Shilo Sanders will be on campus to watch the draft.

Coach Prime has also confirmed that Sanders will indeed be with the Colorado community on draft day.

“We’re good, man. Like we want to celebrate with our people. With our folks, with our wonderful student body,” Deion Sanders said on The Rich Eisen Show. “I’m just teasing it a little bit.” His words suggest a party at the university, allowing Buffaloes fans to join in on the fun.

If nothing else, the prospect’s decision is just further evidence of how meaningful Colorado was to his football career. Sanders will spend the biggest night of his young career surrounded by loved ones in a place he helped make special.
