Patrick Mahomes’ Father Gets Into Altercation After Super Bowl 59 Loss

In what has been a difficult week for the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, the video of his father and Rocker won’t have made it any better.

the younger Mahomes played arguably the worst game of his professional career as Kansas City was humiliated by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59. Mahomes recorded just 33 first-half passing yards and made things worse with two interceptions, which were both turned into seven points by the Eagles.

While 40-22 sounds like a respectable scoreline, it wasn’t really that close. The Eagles led 24-0 at halftime as Mahomes was repeatedly engulfed by the Eagles pass rush. It was an awful defeat for the Chiefs, who looked completely out of their depth.

Pat Mahomes Sr., John Rocker’s Interaction on Bourbon Street

You would think that when a family member makes it to a Super Bowl, everything would be focused on them. Unfortunately, this was not the case for Mahomes Sr., father of the Chiefs’ franchise quarterback.

In a video that has recently appeared online, Mahomes Sr. is seen getting into an altercation with none other than former MLB pitcher John Rocker.

It’s unclear what led to the confrontation, but Rocker is seen walking out of a bar and approaching Mahomes Sr., who appears aggravated by the former baseball pro.

Some minor physical contact took place, and Rocker appeared to get wound up by Mahomes Sr.’s reaction toward him. Both men exchanged angry words, and Mahomes’ father was held back by two men who were with him. Eventually, the men managed to escort the Chiefs star’s father away, but Rocker was clearly upset, and he threw a cup in his adversary’s direction. He even followed up with a post on X about the situation.

Both men appeared to be intoxicated throughout the exchange.

Mahomes Sr. also had a solid baseball career of his own. Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1992, he went on to represent six teams in a professional career that lasted over a decade.

Rocker’s career in the MLB didn’t last as long, spanning from 1998 until 2003. The former Atlanta Braves man is no stranger to controversy, having made multiple racial, sexual, and homophobic slurs throughout his professional career.

Mahomes Sr. and Rocker were almost teammates during their careers but missed each other by one season. Mahomes played for the Texas Rangers in 2001 before Rocker was traded to the team in 2002.
