The Chicago Bears sent a clear message by hiring Ben Johnson, one of the league’s top offensive coordinators the past few seasons, as head coach. The organization is all in on developing quarterback Caleb Williams.
Chicago already has D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze as targets for Williams as wide receivers. However, adding another veteran in Cooper Kupp isn’t out of the question.

Bears Predicted To Acquire Cooper Kupp
Kupp released a statement on Feb. 3 that the Los Angeles Rams are seeking to trade him this offseason. The 31-year-old broke the news himself on social media.
“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships,” Kupp wrote on X. “I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.
“Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember.”

Since then, pundits have linked the 31-year-old receiver to numerous teams. On Feb. 11, Yardbarker’s Seth Trachtman proposed the Bears acquire Kupp.
Williams finished 33rd in PFSN’s QB+ metric with a D grade. He posted a 62.5% completion percentage with 3,541 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. He averaged 6.3 yards per pass.
“Williams’ rookie season ended on a relatively high point in Week 18 with a win over the Packers. It was also an above-average performance for him this season, but since it was a C, that says more about the rest of the season than Week 18,” wrote PFSN’s Ben Rolfe.
“On the season, Williams’ numbers are not good, but they’re not as bad as we saw from Young in his rookie year. Williams finished with a -0.05 EPA/DB (31st), a 30.5 third-down conversion rate (36th), and 5.5 nYPA (37th). He was better in relative terms from a clean pocket, ranking 24th (0.18 EPA/DB) than when pressured (32nd, -0.48 EPA/DB).”
Adding a veteran such as Kupp could be a key addition to Williams’ development.
