    Saquon Barkley’s Impressive 2024 Season

After six years of grinding as a Giant in New York, Barkley was available to sign wherever he desired in the 2024 NFL offseason. The Eagles coveted his ability and said game planning against him was ‘a nightmare’.

But they knew what they needed to do, as he didn’t have a game with over a hundred yards rushing against Philadelphia after his rookie year. Barkley signed a 3-year, $37,750,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it was clearly a great investment.

Barkley played in sixteen games, rushing for 2,005 yards and scoring 15 total touchdowns. Including his postseason stats, Barkley became the first player in NFL history to rush for 2,500 yards in a single season.

While he was a finalist for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award, the honor went to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen. However, he did take home Offensive Player of the Year honors.

One of the game’s good guys got his first ring. Based on recent quotes, there may be more in the tank for the Barkley-led Eagles.

Is This Just the Beginning for Barkley and the Eagles?

While his time with the Giants was trying, it wasn’t his fault that the team was unsuccessful. He averaged over four yards per carry in three separate seasons. However, he had an astonishing 5.8 yards per carry with the Eagles.

Saquon has always been humble and handled everything the right way, but that doesn’t mean that he lacks motivation.

It is hard to imagine numbers much more than what Barkley put up this year, but he said, “Next year will probably be my best year,” and I am not one to doubt him.

To think that there may be another gear to Barkley’s game is a frightening thought for the rest of the league, as the Eagles just closed their year out on the backs of Barkley and their stellar defense to a dominant Super Bowl victory over the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.
