What Did Josh Allen Say in His MVP Speech?

Going into the NFL Honors, the race for the league MVP was considered to be between Allen and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. With Jackson being named to the first-team All-Pro list earlier in the year, it appeared as though he had a slight edge going into the night. However, Allen won the MVP award, having received 27 first-place votes to Jackson’s 23, according to the Associated Press (AP).

Allen thanked various individuals and groups of people who helped him on his journey to becoming the league’s MVP. However, the most touching moment of the speech came when Allen began mentioning his parents and siblings.

“I’d like to thank Joel and Lavonne, my parents. Who, in my 20+ years of playing football, going down to Pop Warner, I bet you they’ve missed maybe 15 games in their entire life. They are so dedicated to supporting me and my favorite teammates, my sister, my brother, and my little sister. … Thank you guys for all the support, all the time,” Allen stated.

He concluded his award speech with a shoutout to the Buffalo Bills fans, the Bills Mafia.

“Be good. Do good. God bless. And go Bills,” Allen concluded.
