Deion Sanders is set to see his son, Shedeur, get his name called out on stage during the 2025 NFL Draft event, a day that will go down as one of the most important days in the Colorado star’s life.
Deion and Shedeur are among the most exciting father-son duos in the history of the game. They’ve been with each other not just because they’re family, but also because they share a successful coach-player relationship ever since their time in high school to Jackson State to the Colorado Buffaloes.
During the NFL Honors red carpet event, Coach Prime revealed Shedeur’s main goal.

Deion Sanders Shares Son Shedeur’s Aspirations for the 2025 NFL Draft
The NFL Honors red carpet was a star-studded night, attended by Colorado’s Coach Prime and his two sons, Deion Jr., who handles the family’s social media, and Shedeur, who will soon live his NFL dreams.
Shedeur is expected to go early in the draft, possibly the No. 1 pick.
Talking about the Colorado quarterback’s potential draft order, Coach Prime expressed gratitude for the opportunity and said that he and his son are grateful and just aspire to be picked in the first round, not necessarily the first overall pick.
Deion further stated that Shedeur’s goal and dream is to beat his dad in terms of draft order and go higher than he went.
Coach Prime was the fifth overall pick and went to the Atlanta Falcons during the 1989 NFL Draft; he ran 40-yard dash times of 4.27s and 4.29s during that year’s NFL Combine.
“We’re thankful, man, we didn’t aim to be the first pick. We just aimed to be the first round, high in the first round, and we’re going to achieve that. And his goal and his dream is to be drafted higher than I was, and I feel we’re gonna achieve that as well.”

Jameis Winston also pointed out that Deion and Shedeur are possibly the first father-son duo in which the dad played DB, and his son is now playing quarterback.
Coach Prime said that it is because he also played quarterback during high school and was always reading the offense to really succeed while defending his opponents.
