‘He’d Go for a Big Bag’ – NFL Fans React As Deion Sanders Drops Blunt Statement on Why He Won’t Coach in the League

NFL fans react as Deion Sanders explains why he wouldn't coach in the NFL, despite several rumors this year to the contrary.

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was one of the biggest names circulating during the NFL coaching carousel following the 2024 season. Because his sons, Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders, are moving to the pros, many fans and analysts predicted Coach Prime would pack his bags, leave Boulder with his sons, and start coaching in the NFL.

Two teams often in that conversation were the Las Vegas Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys. While Coach Prime has stated his intention to stay in Colorado and continue building the program, he recently caught fans’ attention when he shared another reason why he wouldn’t want to go into the NFL.

NFL Fans React to Deion Sanders’ Reasons To Stay Put

Sanders made several headlines when he revealed one of the reasons why he isn’t interested in the NFL. The Colorado coach stated that he couldn’t coach at that level because of the lack of intensity in practice sessions. He also mentioned how he cannot take it as a man and a football enthusiast who cares about the game.

The 57-year-old NFL icon mentioned that the game is still helping him financially, and he couldn’t allow these things to happen under his watch as it would be difficult for him.

“I know it’s cute but I couldn’t coach pro ball. The way they practice, the way they go about it, I couldn’t take it as a man and as a football enthusiast. I care about the game. The game is still providing for Troy and I. There’s no way I could allow that to happen on my watch. That would be tough.”

Reacting to this blunt statement, one fan commented, “It’s harder to manipulate & control @NFL athletes Much of Deion’s coaching style revolves around that. And I don’t mean that as a negative. I believe he is an excellent role model for these kids.”

“If the money is right he will show up.” another one pointed out.

“He’d go for a big bag. Money talks.” another fan mentioned.

Another fan highlighted, “You went from wanting to coach your sons in the NFL to I couldn’t coach pro ball.”

“As soon as an NFL team called he’d be gone.” another fan boldly predicted.

“Make the difference than Coach. You think the Chiefs and Andy Reid have ANY lack of intensity in practice?” another fan asked Coach Prime.

Despite a conversation with Jerry Jones, Coach Prime is staying at Colorado as he watches his sons transition to the NFL.
